Bills Need To Draft De To Complete Defence

If the bills can land Sam Adams, Spikes, and already have posey, fletcher, williams, schobel, winfield and clements then what they really need to do with that first round pick # 23 is get a premeire pass rushing DE which this draft is said to be very deep at DE spot this year that would almost complete our defense. i think that kevin thomas showed signs of being a real good nickle back and our young safeties are improving but i wouldnt mind the bills picking up blaine bishop anyway cause eagles just released him.But Mcdougle would be a great pick at 23 cause our other ends are coming off injuries and are a question mark right now and it would be good to have that depth to rotate the line. This defense then would be complete and could get hte ball in the offenses hands more. i think henry could have 2000 yards this year if our defense plays as good as they look on paper.
    GO BILLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

welcome Bills fan in Mass. A solid DE in the draft would be good,
I wonder if Chris Kelsay of Neb. would be avail.

I don't think McDougle will be there unless he drops some more. I disagree that Buffalo's most critical need is a pass rushing end. Marcus Jones should be a good pass rushing end to go with Aaron Schobel on the right side. Schobel will be more effective next to a solid DT. Keith McKenzie is a good pass rushing end from the other side. Buffalo lacks a big sturdy left defensive end who can play the run and apply some pressure on the QB when needed. Chidi Ahanotu is pretty limited. OK for a stop gap last year, but not the guy I want starting there next year. Schobel isn't really suited for the left side and McKenzie is not big enought for full time duty there. I think Kenny Peterson is the man.

IF we sign sam adams.. i really dont see them drafting DL.. honestly.. follow me on this..

they will probably keep 9 guys on the dline next year.

            locks are -
adams, williams, schobel, bannan, denny, edwards.

            the others are -
            mckenzie, jones, irons

now, i just dont see them cutting any of the guys that they JUST drafted and are still young..bannan, denny, edwards, and irons

and unless mckenzie or jones is just not healthy, i dont see them getting cut either..

i think you are looking at your 9 dl for next year right there..

I completely agree with Tatonka. The D-line with Adams would be set. The only possible difference I see is if Jones is completely healthy and Denney or Irons show improvement in camp then maybe we do not neet McKenzie. In that case, a developmental prospect at end or DT wouldn't hurt if drafted low enough. Someone mentioned James Lee from Oregon (or Oregon State) who had good measurables at the combine. Someone like that to replace Adams in two years might make sense. Otherwise, one of the undersized ends in a lower round so they have a year or two to bulk up.

Assuming we get Adams, then I think Safety is the most glaring need. Improved front seven play will help the back four, but an upgrade at Safety is needed. That being said, it would be hard to pass on Mike Doss. He is a perfect GW safety; big, strong and instinctive. He can play Strong or Free and hits like a truck. Also, he would automatically mesh with Clements and Winfield ("OSU"). Further, imagine the heavy nickels and dimes we could play with Wire and Doss. Having the flexibility to play a defense with 5 or 6 db's that can also support the run will help against teams with strong tight ends. Finally, having Doss and Wire helps your zone blitz packages in coverage, which the Bills with LeBeau will obviously emphasize. Either way, it is great to be back in the first round. Go Bills.

TD might just pick up a young speed receiver to replace Price. I would prefer he go DE or DB.
Who knows, there may be another Mike W monster OL fall down and he takes him.
I think in the first round you have to take the best available talent.

We won't draft doss. He is a terrible cover guy and can't play FS. We already got coy wire so we won't draft doss. I like a WR or a DE in the draft

I'm saying Kenny Peterson can play DE. He has done so. He would fill the spot of a big left defensive end who can defend against both the pass and the run. He is nearly 300 lbs and runs the 40 in about 4.8. He would be far superior to Ahanotu. He would be at least a two down DE. If Buffalo wanted to rotate in a pass rushing specialist on third downs, they've got Keith McKenzie, but when the other team passes on first down Peterson will not be out of place rushing the passer. If Buffalo wanted to play him on three downs he would not be at all out of place. Peterson is an outstanding player, who like a few others gives teams flexibility. If Buffalo acquired a guy down the road whom they wanted to play LDE, Peterson can move inside without missing a beat. The others in the top two rounds of the draft who can do that are Kevin Williams and Nick Eason. Williams will probably be drafted before Buffalo picks and Eason is probably a bit of a reach at the 23rd spot. The other DTs are DTs only and probably can't handle DE.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.
