Mare has lost his edge and is overpaid for the percentage of FG's made

since it may be hard to detect sarcasm on a message board, some of you guys know that it's Jay Feely the kicker, not AJ Feeley right, lol?

Mare is a better kicker.

Because the kicker position was their problem area last season?

19 touchdowns, 14 picks last year behind a bad line with no running game.

How did Culpepper do? Ouch. That hurts.

How did Culpepper do? .
fumbled as usual. threw int's as usual and then got benched but at least they were able t ouse the "injured" excuse for his sucking on the field.

At least he behaved. No party cruises.

I forget. What did the Dols give-up for Culpepper, Feeley, and Lamar Gordon?

it's another $$$$ saving move I believe, but they may also try to work a trade

Involving a kicker? This isn't fantasy football pal.

Gee I don't know how does any player recovering from a tripple ligament tear do? Donavan McNabb tore up his knee last year too and missed most of the season, I guess JP's better then him too right??

McNabb was also having a great year before he went down. Culpepper hasn't played a good game, much less a good year in three years.

It's not fanatasy football?? What the hell does that have to do with Mare?? He makes way too much money and if he doesn't restructure his contract he will be cut and Feeley will be signed.

Mare is a better kicker.

Actually, no he isn't. Over the past two years, Mare has kicked field goals at a 77% rate of success. Feely is at 84%. Plus, Feely has improved his FG% for the past four years.

Mare is a STRONGER kicker. He excels at touchbacks, but I would be happy to sacrifice some touchbacks for a more consistant kicking game and at a cheaper rate.

Mare has only been above 80% once since 2002. He is not worth the money on his contract and the Dolphins are wise to move on.

An update on Feeley

Jay Feely is now considering a contract offer from the Giants.
Reports earlier Tuesday indicated Feely was on the verge of signing in Miami. Looks like we've got a good 'ol fashioned catfight over a kicker.
