Bills | Team interested in Dillon
Wed, 7 Mar 2007 16:18:06 -0800

Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, citing John Clayton, of ESPN, reports the Buffalo Bills have shown interest in free-agent RB Corey Dillon (Patriots), and that Dillon may meet with the team Thursday, March 8.

I know it has been posted that we are meeting with him but there is a difference between interest and a meeting between a team and a player........i think that we will make a serious run at Dillon and even if we sign Brown i believe that we could still draft an RB in the first 3 rounds

if we sign brown (which i hope we dont) theres no reason to sign dillon and vvice versa. theyre too much of the same back. big bruising between the tackles runners. thatd be like having bledsoe and rob johnson on the same roster.... id rather see us get dillon and get a small fast back in the draft.

How does Darius Walker project as a pro? What I saw of him in college, which I will admit was limited, I thought he seemed like a pretty good back, especially if he were to be paired with a guy like Dillon. Add to the fact that he had some good coaching in ND... What round will he go?

he projects as a slow running back.

I would actually love to have Dillon in Buffalo. He's not very fast, but still quick enough to get to the corner when he needs to and his vision is still good. If the Bills get a young guy like Lynch or Bush (or even a Westbrook-type in Booker) to compliment him, then the backfield will be in good shape.

When there are multiple threads about the same player, no.

Yeah? He seemed pretty elusive, a slasher. He's slow?

Yes I would have. I don't care why there are multiple threads, there shouldn't be.

Walker ran slow 40 times in ND's pro day. Also, I don't think he even ways 200 lbs. So he's slow and small, not good. If the Bills have only two true RBs on the roster and he's there in the 4th round, maybe. Other than that, I'd pass on him.

Dillion plus mid round RB would be great as well as Brown plus mid round RB. I can't find a spot for A-Train here anymore though..

Dillon coming here has the same significance of when Stephen Davis signing with Carolina to me.

That sounds great. Unload our 25 year old RB for a washed up tool. Awesome.

If Dillon from a couple of years ago were to show up, I'd personally role out the red carpet for him. However, he's getting up there for a rb. Brown probably is a better fit

I was kinda thinking the same thing - he might play against the Pats the way Willis plays against the Jets.

Maybe we should sign 1 HB from the Fins, Jets and Pats ... then we can get at least 6 great games out of our backfield.

That's just not worth it. There's more than just 2 games in a season.
