Junior guard Tori Gibson drilled a 3-pointer at the buzzer as No. 1 seed Glenville prevailed over fourth-seeded Kenston, 50-47, in a Division I boys district semifinal game at Euclid High School. Kenston (18-4) led, 35-29, after three periods, but Glenville junior point guard Kendall Holt hit 12 of his 16 team-leading points in the fourth quarter for the Tarblooders (16-7), ranked 25th by The Plain Dealer. The Tarblooders also got a boost from former Glenville and Ohio State standout Donte Whitner. Whitner, a defensive back for the Buffalo Bills, bought 25 pair of new Nike Air Jordans for the team, just in time for the game. |
