Corey Dillon didn't visit the Bills Thursday as planned.
He may make the trip next week. Buffalo is looking for a veteran runner after dealing Willis McGahee.

You can't help but think that the Seahawks replaced one overpaid free agent mistake at defensive end with another in Patrick Kerney. Wistrom got $14 million guaranteed three years ago ,but struggled to stay healthy. He can still help a team, but may not be a starter. The Seahawks will count Wistrom as a "June 2nd" cut to spread out his cap hit. Bryce Fisher and Darrell Tapp are slated to play opposite Kerney. The

Yes, it is a change in the new CBA.

Basically, if you cut a player after the start of the new league year (March 2 this year), you can designate him as a post-June 1 release and push the acceleration off to the next season. It is designed to help the player, since it used to be teams would carry the guy on their roster until June 2 even if they wanted to release him just so the cap hit could be spread out. That player can now be released and hit the market earlier, but the team gets the benefit of postponing the bonus acceleration until the following season.

The caveat is the player's full cap hit is carried on the team's cap until June 2, despite his being released. On June 2, the team's cap is adjusted so the bonus acceleration is pushed off until the following year.
