DT Adam Carriker

Did anyone else read this? 4.7 40 at 291 LBs?!!!! That's just crazy. These guys get bigger and faster every year.

CARRIKER IS A FREAK: Nebraska defensive lineman Adam Carriker is officially a freak of nature. He had his pro day yesterday along with all the other Cornhuskers coming out. He's 6'6" and weighed in a 291 pounds. He ran a 4.72 and a 4.73 40 time... at 291 pounds!!! By contrast Nebraska LB Stewart Bradley ran a 4.75 and 4.76 at 258 pounds. I was talking to Kelsay about his fellow Cornhusker (Carriker) when he was in town to sign his new deal. Kelsay said,

especially at the Nebraska track - their RB ran about .15 seconds faster than he did at the combine.

You guys are missing the point, this kid was a dominant pass rusher at Nebraska playing DE and has openly admitted he'd be open to moving to DT and bulking up. He has crazy athleticism, he is not Schoebel or Kelsay.

interesting but our DL is hurting BAD- we need a proven commodity, not someone who needs to bulk up and change positions.

Oi you keep facts out of this argument.

Carriker having probably the best technique of any DE in the draft, or being one of the strongest/most versatile.....etc has nothing to do with this. He runs really fast!

Technically at 291 he has no need to bulk up and he'd already come in as one of the strongest dlineman on our team. As for changing posistions Im not that concerned, bc even if we take a player like Okoye, it will take him atleast a year to adjust to the NFL game being only 19, and with Branch he has to learn a whole new system. Im not too worried about Carriker needing to switch, I just like that on passing downs he can roll outside and it also makes for a dominant stunt with the DE and DT.
