Yeah why would they bring in Rhodes with Jordan on the roster? Al Davis works in very mysterious (******ed) ways.

It's safe to say he was looking for starter money. Even though Jordan is their starter I bet he got paid pretty well. More than OBD would have offered.

We should still sign A-Train and C. Brown and draft a rookie in 3rd or 4th round. Yes we have Shaud but he could become expendable even after signing a 2 year deal if we find someone better as a third stringer.

Not to forget, we have another guy on the practice squad that could turn into a formidable RB for us. Can't remember his name!

:ill: Curtis Alexander worked so well the last time. Has there ever been a great running back to come out of NFLE?

God, please not Chris Brown.

Just re-sign A-Train and draft a promising, young RB like Peterson (if possible), Lynch, Bush, or Henry.

Is Rhodes overated now?
or should we wait for contract details so we can then say he wasnt worth the money?

Fred Jackson? In NFL Europe?

Does anyone know how Fred Jackson is doing in Europe? It does appear that Marv may have him as part of the plans. From Billsdaily.com:

Levy On Trade: Marv Levy discussed the trade of Willis McGahee on the team's website today. He said they talked to several teams and several were interested in him. They made the deal that was in their best interest and he feels both teams got what they want. He also wished Willis well. There was an agreement to move on at the running back position but they weren't going to do it without getting proper value for McGahee and he feels they got a really meaningful return by getting three picks. He feels having four picks in the first 100 gives the team some flexibility on draft day. The coach is hopeful in retaining the services of Anthony Thomas. He also thinks Shaud Williams is a good change of pace back and the coaches are high on Fred Jackson who was on the practice squad last year. He also said they are looking in to bringing someone else in from free agency and/or the draft.

isn't it amazing how Schefter, who works for NFL network, breaks all these stories...

$75 million on day one of FA. We have debunked that theory.

No im not saying the bills are cheap, I don't think a Veteran running back is really worth that kind of money. 2yr 7.5 million for Brown? Hell no. Dillion no. Trade for a back or draft a couple. I would rather see them spend that dough in another place.

There is plenty of time. Not many teams looking at RBs now and there are always late cuts and June 1st cuts. There will always be someone who can run the ball. Is Ki Jana Carter still available? Maybe Curtis Enis?

Yes, Ricky and Ronnine combined for over 1700 yards in 05. I expect more of the same this year, much to the your dismay.

For a career backup who isn't that good?

I would say the answer is yes.

The guy was a mediocre back, and had one good game (The SB) then everyone thinks he is great.

Can anyone say Larry Brown, or Dexter Jackson?

I prefer Brown or even Dillion (although he seems unlikely now) to Rhodes as it is. He won't do any better than Jordan in Oakland. I really hope that we grab Brown and get a 3rd round back + A-Train for injury insurance.

Rhodes = overrated.

History has showed us that guys like this coming off a superbowl victory sign big contracts with a new team and become nothing more than a fatcat - or he'll blow out his knee behind oaklands god awful line anyway.

Good luck in Oakland loser.
