Agreed, I wouldn't be shocked if teams like New England with two picks, Steelers, Colts, Eagles, possible might take him as a change of pace back.

i would like willis too, but lynch is the perfect running back for this offense. his receiving skills are top notch, and his running skills cant be described as bruiser or scat back, because he can do both.

the guy is just awesome.

i will be happy either way.

The Source is Mark Eckel, who covers the Eagles/NFL for the Trenton Times. He does a pretty good job and knows the league pretty well. You can find the article, which ran today, HERE (http://www.nj.com/columns/times/eckel/index.ssf?/base/columns-0/117358992652000.xml&coll=5&thispage=3).

Here is the relevant section, which sounds like his own speculation:

Baltimore acquired running back Willis McGahee from Buffalo for a third-round and a seventh-round pick this year and a third-round pick next year.

The Ravens get a younger Ja maal Lewis to keep their power running game intact. Buffalo gets a late first-day pick and a bottom pick. It's a good thing the Bills have some of the best people in the league running their draft, but this was not a good trade.

Buffalo will take Cal's Marshawn Lynch in the first round to replace McGahee, but who knows if he'll be as good. And all that does is preclude them from filling other needs, and they have plenty.

It's still early March. I doubt the Bills along with most teams have made any decisions concerning the draft.

I love how this guy thinks it's etched in stone that we "will" take someone. Good job, chief. It's March 12th.

By the way, this is the same publication that said we were going to sign Adam Vinatieri a couple offseasons back.

Right now it is looking more and more like the Bills will take Lynch in the first round, even though that is not what I would like to see them do.

Lynch is okay and would be a fit for the Bills' offense, so I wouldn't be that upset if they take him. But, I'd rather see them use that pick to shore up their defense and take a RB later on. Still, Marv has been around the game a lot longer than I have and I'm sure that he and the rest of the Bills' braintrust know what they are looking for and what they are seeing in the RBs in this draft and I will trust them to decide what will be the best way to proceed for the sake of the team. And, then, we'll see how it works out. For all I know, Lynch could be the second coming of Thurman Thomas and I could end up being delighted that he was the guy they went with!
