    Peterson Scenario Explained

Fellas id love Peterson here as much as anyone.......and im not an advocate of drafting lynch. Simply to much talent next year, and plenty of later round options this year to think about it.

Im not hating at all, that would imply i wouldnt want him.....which I would.

Teams that likely wont draft Peterson:
    1. Oakland
    2. Detroit
    4. Tampa Bay
    5. Arizona
    6. Washington
    9. Miami
    11. San Francisco

Teams that could possibly land him:
    3. Cleveland
Still no long term answer, lewis is a 1 year deal
    7. Minnesota
    Taylor is average
    8. Houston
Green puts the Texans on the fringe of Peterson, hard to imagine they pass up a star RB twice though there maybe riots in Houston if they do.
    10. Atlanta
Norwood is a nice change of pace back, dunn is in his twilight

And even assuming he makes it all the way down to 11 this is assuming no team below us trades up.

    See my thread please.

DeMarcus Russell has a better chance of sliding to us than Peterson does.

Him too. He was :fat: at the combine and I could see the Raiders passing on him.

At what point do we try and trade up for him? 8 .... 10?

Depends on the cost really. Swapping 1sts is understood. All the madden nerds will suggest we package TKO.

The problem is if Peterson fell past the Browns we would have to trade up to 6th to ensure Minny doesnt take him.

The 6th pick (Redskins) is worth 1600 and our 12th is worth 1200. So now it becomes a matter of how bad you want him. Im not entirely familiar with thier LB situation so TKO maybe a fit there with all his old buddies. However they will most assuredley want another pick. So it now becomes a matter of how much or little for that matter they value TKO.

The Redskins would likely have no problem trading down a few spots unless they have someone 100% deadset they want. So it would just be a matter of what they want.

My guess at least according to the "value chart" to move to 6th you are looking at:

                Redskins:
                1st (12) - 1200
                3rd (12) - 215
Late pick OR MAYBE TKO really just depends.

                Bills:
                1st (6th) - 1600

The above scenario is optimistic. Thats assuming they even want TKO and value him at 185+ points which is the equivalent to a mid 3rd rounder. Which is not very likely. Plus if he falls the Redskins are likely to ask for more just because of his worth. It may take as many as 3 picks and a player or a few picks this year and next.

Peterson would not be cheap so as I said its a matter of how badly you want him. For the record id do it in a heartbeat for the above mentioned deal.

Our first and second equals trading up to around the 5th or 6th picks.

Yep. Again just a matter of how bad ya want him.

I don't want him that bad. I'd just as soon get a LB, DT and get a guy like Hunt, Booker, or Irons (or whomever) somewhere later a little...

Im a big advocate of taking Chris Henry with our 3b or 4th round pick. He was productive in college when given carries. Kid could be the real deal after his combine, I dont think he's a workout warrior only. LB in Round 1 and 2 (we need the depth), CB to start Round 3, and DT/RB to finish out Round 3.
