View Full Version : Potential Arrival of Chris Brown Ominous Sign

If Chris brown signs tomorrow as some say, that pretty much guarantees we will be going defense in rounds one and two.

Our RB rotation will be Brown,Thomas, Williams......absolutely awful if you ask me.

So you can forget about Marshawn Lynch, Michael Bush or Tony Hunt. They will not be there and it'll go down as one of the worst drafts in Bills history. It's going to result in 5 -11 and 6-10 buffalo teams for the next three years at OBD.

Taking a defensive player in round one pretty much guarantees we will have a running back 'by backup' in 2007.

How will that be bad, granite i do not like CB but he would be better if he stays healthy over any unexperienced RB we take in the draft.

Yeah we may as well just shoot ourselves in the mouth right now because our season is already over. :ill:

Yeah... those guys and a middle round RB draft pick couldn't get 990+ yards between them... good point... we're doomed...

Anyone realize A-Train, while not the greatest, has had two very similar output seasons as Willis McHamSandwich? And he shows up, shuts his mouth, works hard, and learns the plays...

We need to use our higher round picks for other positions.

With the market moves made by the jerkoffs at OBD this offseason coupled with the gains of our division rivals in free agency, I can guarantee you this team will regress in 2007.

I think you're right that it means we're not looking at Marshawn Lynch at #12.

But I don't think it rules out a 2nd round RB.

And either way, its ridiculous to say that if we don't take a RB in the early rounds its going to go down as one of the worst drafts in Bills history.

If we sign Brown, we certainly have bigger neads on defense that need to be addressed early in the draft. Hopefully Marv has his eye on the next 6th rounder RB like Tyrell Davis.

But, given our new massive line, the A Train is the perfect back for this. I think he'll have a big year.

Exactly EE. Brown and Atrain wouldn't blow anyone out of the order but they would be more than competent. Brown could be above average if he stays healthy. Draft and RB in the 3rd and we are GOLDEN..

Think Ravens offense with Jamal Lewis or the Steelers with the bus.

Or even the A Train with the Bears when Jauron was 13-3 with them.

Smashmouth football. Brown can be our change of pace back and we really don't need to draft a RB at all.

The Answer agrees - Chris Brown signs here and you can forget about drafting/trading for a RB and look forward to the 1-2 punch of the A Train and BrokedownBrown Express - with Suck Williams getting spot duty.

Hate to break up the lovefest going on here with some facts but....

The A-train will turn 30 this season...
He hasn't rushed for over 1000 yards since 2003.
He has averaged a robust 3.3, 2.1 and 3.5 ypc the past 3 seasons.
He can pound it in you say? 4 rushing TDs in his last 272 carries say you're wrong.

Chris Brown is a good change of pace...
Maybe, if he doesn't leave his vagina on the sideline
Has averaged 3.8 ypc over the past 2 seasons.
Has played in 42 games starting 28 over his 4 year career.
Found the endzone 5 times in his last 265 carries.
Caught a whopping 25 balls the last season he was semi-healthy...
Has fumbled 12 times, losing 7 in his 42 game career.

Trade a few draft picks and/or Takeo Spikes to Dallas for Marion Barber the Third. This kid is a STUD!

~The Answer
What draft picks and why would Dallas want Spikes? Dallas is big on Barber and is offering Jones currently. How would you make this happen?

It's satisfying to know you'll settle for middle of the road players.

Yes because most teams have stars at every position....

1000 yards don't mean what it used to - both of these scrubs will be lucky to get 1000 yards combined in 2007.

Pretty much on par with most all your posts.

We dangle the right amount of candy in front of Jerry Jones and he'll bite - The Answer's sources have told him that he's wet for Adrian Peterson and willing to make a blockbuster deal to move up in the draft and get him.

Regardless, The Answer proposes we offer our 2nd round pick, Takeo Spikes and conditional pick in 2008 (one that could turn into as high as another 2nd rounder if he hits certain numbers) for MB3 - Steve Fairchild should recognize he's another Marshall Faulk/LT type of back and lobby for this.

It isn't necessarily the wrong answer because I think barber is a good player it is just a dumb answer because there is no way we could get him.

I would think this tandem would be around middle of the road which would be good enough if JP takes the next step in the passing game. No one is proclaiming Greatness out of the tandem.
I proclaim greatness for this tandem. :ee:

Has fumbled 12 times, losing 7 in his 42 game career.

one fumble every 3.5 games and one lost fumble every 6 games? I can live with that.

I see no problem in signing Brown to a reasonable contract and still drafting a RB before round four. If Brown, can't take the heat, release him. Stranger things have happened. Maybe some more competition in a new location will do him some good.

Take it to the bank! - The Answer has scouted this young stud ever since he was a golden golpher in college - he gets a full season worth of carries and his numbers will be ridiculous!

The front office will rue the day if they don't pull the trigger on MB3 and get him in a Bills uniform!

If Brown signs, it won't be for more than 2 yrs and will be pretty damn cheap, seeing how Chris Brown doesn't really hold any negotiation cards. It's not like we need him. We are going to draft a RB in RD2 or RD3 weather or not we sign Brown.

I disagree 100%

So Willis met that much to the Bills you are saying. Rb's are a dime a dozen there is maybe 3 RB's in the whole NFL that are elite backs......Bills made the right choice....

Wow! I'm amazed. The signing of a stopgap running back will consign us to the slag heap for three years. I never knew that one relatively small move would have such dire consequences.

Thanks for the enlightenment.

Can you define homer?
Homer:

n. A unit of capacity used by the ancient Hebrews, equal to 10 ephahs (about 10 bushels) or 10 baths (about 100 gallons). Also called kor.

n. pigeon trained to return home

n. A fan of a sports team whose views and perceptions of his/her team are not consistent with an objective critique of the team and persistently exceed reality.

It certainly doesn't propel us forward. I'm sure the roster spot could have been much more effectively utilized.

Maybe he has a contract that does not commit us to him this season and he'll be released. Happens all the time.

Either way, he wasn't pushed to 3rd on the Titans depth chart for no reason. Travis Henry easily outperformed him. Henry wasn't deemed good enough for us. Or was that it was he was too good. We obviously and clearly can't exercise any common sense in Buffalo for the Bills.

Brown is a third string role playing RB. Why all the discussion on Brown says a lot for where this team is.
