It's time Ruff took off the kid gloves and start treating this team like they should be treated...like a bunch of kids! They are playing terrible right now and that includes Miller. He needs to send a message to this team that the effort has to start picking up or they will not be long for the playoffs.

I thought they played a hard fought game, but I agree with Thurm. Vanek just doesn't seem to even try on SOs. He pussy foots in there and slides the puck to goalie. I've seen him do this more than once.

I don't want this thread to go the wrond direction. Vanek has been playing very well overall, while he hasn't been scoring of late that line has been probably our best in the last week. I was just commenting on his Shootout attempts. It is like he is half assing them for some reason. In all honesty he needs to stop trying these trick moves.

I think Vanek is just frustrated because he gets the opportunities but has had a lot of trouble scoring lately. That said, I would still say he is one of our top three best at finding the net. Drury is more of a worker to get goals and I don't think he would be very good at shootouts (although I do agree that he might be given the opportunity once in a while) and Roy seems awful when I have seen him on breakaways.

You didn't say his line, you said he was the best player out there. Derek Roy has been playing great, he is the only one out there that mucks. I am sick of Vanek and his weak attempts at stick checks, the ducking away from physical contact, and the blind passes he tries that hardly ever work.

Vanek has a ton of moves and shots, he is probably our most talented shooter. He just doesn't seem to be shooting with confidence on the shootouts lately.
