I was thinking about this (not sure why) and wondered what others think.

Right now I would have to go with Schobel and Crowell.

Schobel and Whitner, whom I'm partial to. I expect huge things from him soon.

not hating on Whitner, I think he will BECOME a good safety.

But I dont even think he was the best rookie safety on the team last year..I thought Simpson played better.

which is a good thing

i agree 110% whitner will become a top tier SS in years to come. he's smart, has a nose for the ball and knows how to finish his tackles.

Tim Anderson isnt even the best #77 in Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sundays.
I see a fan who wears a #77 Jim Jeffcoat jersey in the stands that could step on the field and contribute more than he does.

I'd say Whitner and Schobel, possibly Spikes if he recovers from his injury.

Everyone on our D is expendible except Whitner, Schobel, Crowell and arguably Simpson and McGee (although I'd keep McGee around even if we had a better CB for his return ability).

Schobel and Crowell.

I expect Whitner and Simpson to be able to be metioned in the same thread as them this year, though.

Patrick Willis. That will be our first above average player on defense.

I find it interesting that a lot of people think Whitner is already one of the Bills two best defenders. I definitely think he has that type of potential and may be one of the top two by the end of this coming season, but he is not there yet.
