        Weaknesses:
Doesn't have the speed or burst that you look for and is not very explosive...Size, strength and bulk are average...Struggles to separate, won't stretch the field and is not a vertical threat...Has some character concerns...Was never really the main focus of opposing defenses...Durability is a question...Doesn't have much upside.

A 40 speed is different than burst speed, a lot different. Most of the time, the 40 time really doesn't translate... Plus the factor of them wearing only Underarmour and track spikes! Not quite realistic.

At the combine Meachem ran a 1.51 10 yard dash. And a 2.49 20 yard dash. Calvin Johnson ran 1.52 and 2.53. While Smith ran 1.46 and 2.52.

Im sure if you look at colstons scouting report for last year it read a little the same. All i know is the kid can ball and he went to usc. If he is ther in the 3rd we should strongly consider him. IF he is there in the fourth we better scoop him up.

Steve Smith would be a welcome addition. Is fearless over the middle, decent speed, great hands and is very seasoned. He will likely never be #1 material, but he is most certainly a decent #2 or #3 option.

Most mocks have him in the mid-2nd to mid 3rd range.

So after we get Patrick Willis in the 1st, Michael Bush/Kenny Irons in the 2nd, we can draft Steve Smith in the 3d? I would like that. Then use the other 3d we have for the best CB available.

actually reed was one of the best wrs in the nation coming out of college. steve smith was never near as dominant as reed was in college, and smith has had some ridiculous talent at every position on offense around him.. where as reed was the main focus of LSUs offense back then. i want to say reed had 1800 yards receiving his senior year.
