    Ian Scott visiting with Vikes

Vikings | I. Scott to visit
    Thu, 15 Mar 2007 11:00:06 -0700
Sean Jensen, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings will be meeting with unrestricted free-agent DT Ian Scott (Bears) Thursday, March 15, and Friday, March 16.

Well looks like if we get any upgrade at DT, its coming in the draft. I really liked this guy is a solid rotational DT

Why bring in another average DT? Is he any better than Kyle Williams?

because he's better than Tim Anderson so he would make our rotation better.

Assuming they are not targeting a Timmy replacement.

If he is better than Williams, it is not by much.

Tommie Harris won't be much better than Kyle Williams on this board.

I'm half joking.. At worst, SCott would've been an excellent rotational player, he sure as hell was for the Bears, who know a thing or two about defense, especially when Harris went down.

Scott is a lot like tripplett was last year for Indy.

He's a backup for them, but good enough to start for a lot of teams. He wants starter money, just as Tripplett did. So although their original team thought highly of them they're nto going to pay starting salaries to three DT's.

If the Vikes dont sign him, I'd love for him to work his way up here to Buffalo. He'd probably start over K Williams.

The Bears' run defense went to hell when Scott came in. Granted, losing Tommie Harris is huge, but Scott isn't all that special. I'd take him as a rotational guy, and he'd probably be an improvement, but the guy wouldn't stop the bleeding that well.

At WORSE he's a solid rotation guy; which come draft day would be beneficial as it would be one less spot the Bills would need to address; furthering the chances of addressing RB, LB and WR in the first three rounds.

At Best, he is better than Kyle williams and starts. No matter what, he's a **** of a lot better than Timmay Anderson.

Wouldnt everyone agree it would be nice to sign at least a couple of solid role guys on the defense before the draft? Not to mention with Scott it wouldnt hurt to havea guy who knows what its like to actually play in a post season game.

If we are saying he is a replacement for Anderson then sure but how much is he asking for?

Is he better than Mcargo? I don't want to give him starter money if he isn't going to be a starter.

Minnesota has the "dont even ****ing think about running between the tackles" defense.
