I know he is undersized but i like him in our defence. I would love him on this team.

I would like him on our team but mostly because he would save us a draft pick....he does have good talent but nothing so special, he will miss his tackles but is great in pass coverage....idk if he is exactly what we want

edit: after looking up his stats I realized he had a career high 142 tackles this year, idk where on the field he made these tackles but that is still pretty good

They have enought cap space, just a question if they want to spend the money.

If we could squeeze him in, I'd be more than willing. Although he's not the ideal shut down LB we still need, he's definitely an upgrade. June/Spikes/Crowell or June/Crowell/Willis (with Ellison as our #4 in either scenario) would be a pretty badass set of backers. If OBD decides Spikes is a go, it would also mean we could look strictly at RB/DL with our 1st rounder.

Key arrivals — UFA CB Sammy Davis (from 49ers, March 13); UFA DT Lance Legree (from 49ers, 1 year, March 8); UFA OT Luke Petitgout (3 years, $15.5 million, $6 million guaranteed, March 6); UFA DE Kevin Carter (from Dolphins, 4 years, $25 million, $5.2 million in 2007, $5.8 million in 2008, March 5); UFA FB B.J. Askew (from Jets, March 4); UFA QB Jeff Garcia (from Eagles, March 2); UFA LB Patrick Chukwurah (5 years, $5.5 million, March 2).

Cato June is the type of LB that will only be a great player in a certain system, the cover two is that system.

He was among the league leaders in tackles, and was a Pro bowler in 2005. He's also regarded as one of if not the best LB in the NFL in pass coverage.

While Buffalo may or may not be able to sign him, I sure hope they at least bring him in and show the fans they're making an effort. for a cover two defense, this guy would more than make up for losing Fletcher..

I just want a team that's better than last year's.

Dockery improves the OL, and June would improve the LB's.

Thats better

we will not sign june guys.. i am sorry but it wont happen..

Cato June = 6'0" - 227 lbs.. drafted in the 6th round, 198th overall

Keith Ellison = 6'0" - 228 lbs.. drafted in the 6th round 178th overall

i dont know how many times we have to say it..

JUNE AND ELLISON ARE THE SAME PLAYER!

ellison actually had a MUCH better rookie season that june did. june had 8 tackles as a rookie.

Ellison had 65 in 5 starts. 1 int, 1 sack, 1 FR, and 1 PD..

you guys are just crazy if you want to spend the money on june.. at least, what 20-30 million.. at the MINIMUM.

he is just not worth it..

we need to give OUR guys the benefit of the doubt. the bills liked what they saw in ellison.. or else they would not be talking about trading spikes.. and they would have signed someone like june already.

I respect your football knowledge, but Im not going to even begin to get into comparing Cato June to Keith Ellison..

pat.. they are the same player.. june has turned himself into a good player.. he is not elite.. he is not dominant.. but he is a damn good line backer.

ellison is in the exact same mold as june.. they are both lighter linebackers that rely on smarts and speed.. they both fit perfectly in the tampa 2 style at weak side.. just like derrick brookes.

i dont understand why your acting as if my comparison is insane or that i am way off.

there is NO reason to think that ellison cant be every bit of the line backer that june has become.. if not more.

I think he'll be our version of Zach thomas . Drafted low but gonna be an awsome player. Not saying he'll be as great as Zach though,

Did Ellison really have 65 tackles in five starts? That is freaking impressive.

Yeah. That's a tough comparison. As much as it pains me to say Zach is the best MLB in my lifetime.

Maybe this is why we didn't sign June

Buccaneers signed LB Cato June to a three-year, $12 million contract.
What position June will play in Tampa is uncertain, as weak-side linebacker Derrick Brooks is coming off a Pro Bowl berth. It's possible Brooks will move to the middle or June will take over on the strong side for Ryan Nece despite his size. In any event, June, 27, adds a young playmaker to an aging defense, though he's unlikely to help stop the run.

june was a full time, 3 down starter on the worst run D in the nfl.

June and Ellison are indeed the same player. Speed cover 2 guys.

Ellison impressed me with his form. He didn't miss tackles if they were in his area. A complete steal in the 6th round.

tell the other people screaming for a LB that nighttrain.

the ONLY reason i see to take a LB high is if you are counting on getting rid of TKO.. if he is staying, which i hope he does.. then just draft for depth and see if you cant get another late steal on an undersized speed guy.

If we did draft a LB early, I'd expect a Spikes trade ( for a draft pick ) within an hour of that pick. If we're keeping him, then DT, RB & CB become our focus. Little question.

I can't ignore NFL people saying Spikes is being shopped around. Our feelings matter little if the Bills feel his production isn't up to par and he'll never be the player he once was. It may indeed happen on Draft day, depending on what certain teams needing a LB are able to do.
