All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
The guy who has been my mentor growing up is a guy named Joe Panos. He played in the NFL for seven years. He grew up in my hometown and coached me in high school. His first offensive line coach in the NFL was Bill Muir. I developed a little bit of a relationship with him through Joe.
Joe Thomas, a possible top-5 draft pick, talks about his experience at Pro Day in the Weekly Conversation.
how good can this guy really be if Joe Panos has been his mentor? I feel bad for the guy.
Seriously, I just thought it was funny that he mentioned Panos as his mentor.
Re: Major concern about Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas
Panos was a decent player, just not for us. He never really played for us. But anyways, he could be the worst player in the world but be a great teacher of the game. I think AVP is going to be a good offensive Coordinator and maybe a head coach in the future.
Re: Major concern about Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas
there were such high expectations when he was signed from the Eagles, but like I already said, he was always hurt. it was his neck if Iremember correctly
Re: Major concern about Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas
Am I missing something here? What is the major concern?
Please don't tell me the major concern is that a former NFL O-lineman has mentored this kid and because it is Joe Panos, this kid is a "major" concern. Please, please don't tell me that someone actually came up with something like that.
Re: Major concern about Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas
This thread gets my big "SO WHAT?" of the day award.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

no concern really. it was my lame attempt at sarcasm or a bad joke.
Re: Major concern about Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas
Panos if I remeber correctly was a good player before getting to Buffalo and was sidelines with an unfortunate set of injuries, that forced him to retire either in 2000 or shortly there after. How is Panos being a mentor a bad thing?
Again I repeat my thoughts from another thread: You cannot look at everything from a Bills point of view, if you step out of this box for a moment you see alot more.
COMING SOON...
