My pick: Calvin Johnson

03-18-2007, 07:07 PM
LOL. These things are so biased. Somehow Adrian Peterson and Lynch will fall to the Bills.

Assuming that Moss trade goes, it's Calvin Johnson, who is without a doubt the best player in this draft. If that trade doesn't go through, it's Jamarcus Russell (not because he's the better QB, but because Davis loves big arms).

I think it's Calvin Johnson, they'll find a way to trade for Rodgers.

My pick: CJ

Jamarcus, but if they get Rodgers, then CJ. Especially with CJ, he is just the total package and if they get even a stop-gap QB, there's no way they could (or should) pass on him. If they dont get anyone at QB before the draft, i dont see how they would draft Quinn. Gotta be Jamarcus or CJ, depending on what goes down.

Russell - they need a ****ing QB bad.

Russell, unless they trade for a starting QB. Calvin Johnson if they do.

Because we cant assume trades and the nature of this game I'll have to go with Russell.

Russell. Look what happened to Moss w/o a legitimate QB.

GarnOFreak

Russell

They shoulda grabbed Leinart last year...they're gonna have Houston Texans syndrome if they ignore the QB need two years in a row.

Absolutely... But I like Quinn more, just to be different even if he doesn't fit their needs.

I would take Quinn but they will pick Russell.

Calvin Johnson is the BEST player available, a big need, and can contribute right away...............should be a no brainer

You are correct. But since No Brainer describes Al Davis, he will select Russell.

I pick Calvin Johnson also. The Raiders do not appear to be enamored by Russell and will likely eventually trade with GB for Aaron Rodgers also getting rid of their disgruntled WR Moss. This catapults GB up with a legitimate WR and makes them a good RB away from making the playoffs.

The Raiders on the other hand get a top/premier WR without any of the TO type baggage. With even an average QB, this can catapult them - IF they can fix their Oline woes...

CJ, even Al Davis cant screw this one up

I think Calvin Johnson is the kind of player that Al Davis just can't pass up even though his team might be better served picking Russell. He'll either trade for Rodgers, or sign someone and suffer another bad year.... but for now, he just can't pass up the kind of physical talent he loves...

Like the way Russell and Quinn both fall to the Fins on the Finhell mock I'm sure.

I go with Russell as well.

With the first pick in the NFL draft, the Raiders select Jamarcus Russell by a 18-11 count over Calvin Johnson.

They will trade the pick.

If not Jamarcus Russell

Gunzlingr
03-19-2007, 10:54 AM
I think it will be Russell since it seems that the Moss-Rodgers trade is hogwash. However one of the guys on Sirius NFL yesterday made a good point that Al Davis likes to have experienced players at the starting positions. :idunno:

Everything the Raiders have done this offseason screams "Jamarcus Russell."
