BUFFALO, N.Y. -(AP)- Buffalo Sabres center Tim Connolly skated on his own on Monday, the first time he's been on the ice since a stress fracture below his right knee was discovered in mid-February.

Connolly, who hasn't played this season after sustaining a concussion in last season's playoffs, skated for about 30 minutes before the team's optional practice.
