I really dont know at this point. I personally think he is KILLING the Drury-Zubrus line. I'd take MacArthur, Stafford, Paille or Kaleta over Ryan any night.. thoughts?

He isn't doing very much thats for sure.

Yeah. I just think he is trying to make too much happen at this point. He just keeps choking the puck up.. dont get me wrong, the guy gets good chances but he just hasnt been able to capitalize on them as of yet.

I really want him off the Zuburus line though.

He needs some time to develop, give him a little time.

He has progressed. In his first game he scored an own goal and was terrible. Now he has moments of playing great.

I'm not totally against Ryan but I'm looking forward to him sitting when Max and Ales come back.

This is weird because last night I was watching him and thinking the he was playing well.

The last couple of games I saw, I thought he was lousy.

Ryan is not ready for the NHL.

But he is much closer than Kaleta. Are you serious about him?

He had been bad but last night I thought he played well. Just thought it was weird this thread was started today and not like a week ago.

I didn't notice whether he was good or bad last night. I guess that means he was good if I didn't notice.

I did realize that every time I rip on someone they usually score to make me look like a jackass.

Last night was MacArthur's turn.

i like Ryan he's played pretty well overall. His speed on the pk and the floor check are great, he's had chances he just hasn't burried them. He did prevent us from being shut out against the wild. I'm more impressed with him then Paille.

Ryan isn't even supposed to be here. He's here only because of a freak run of injuries. So I think it's kind of pointless to complain about his play, because (for now) he's a minor-leaguer. Beggars can't be choosers.

Paul Hamilton on WGR 550 just said that Ryan may keep Kotalik on the bench even when he gets healthy per Ruff. Said that he has been playing well in the last 3 to 5 games.

They are saying that he may edge out Paille for the last forward spot in the Playoffs.

I agree with you Thurm, he was a little more passionate in his play last night. I do love his speed and I actually saw him lay out a good hit. I think it is a matter of him learning to be at the top of his game every night in the NHL.

This is hilarious. Now the sports on the 15s are talking about how well Ryan is playing....

Paille played good but it wasn't like he was lighting it up when he was in the lineup.

Ryan has about the same amount of goals than Paille did in less games.

I would rather have Paille for his defensive and physical play. We have enough goal scoring.

I think that Peters or Mair will sit before Kotalik ends up the odd man out.

I am fine with any of these guys really. Great to be stacked isnt it?

Briere-Pominville-Hecht
Drury-Stafford-Zubrus
Max-Vanek-Roy
Mair-Paille-Kotalik (Or Connolly or Paestch here)

I don't see where Ryan can fit in over that three of those last 5 guys.

Why take Stafford of the Roy line?

Here is what I see.
Pominville Briere Hecht
Zubrus Drury Paille/Ryan/Mair/Paetch
Stafford Roy Vanek
Kotalik Connolly Max

Ruff pretty much eluded to these pairings.

Yeah Ryan did start off bad but has been playing much better especially last night.

I love the idea of Connolly and Max on the same line. I think that would work.

The fact that would be our forth line makes it even better.

Briere should stay with Pommer and Hecht why break up a good thing

Hecht Briere Pommer
Stafford Roy Vanek
Kotalik Drury Paille/Mair/Patech <- a nice two way checking line
Zubrus Connolly Max

I never realized Ryan is 27 jeez he's no longer a prospect. I don't think we can send him or Paille down without waiving them?

Ryan is an emergency call up and has to be sent down immediately, on paper at least, when Paille returns. They can then call him back up but he would be subject to waiver rules at that point. At any rate we are likely to lose him in the off-season as we either have to keep him on the NHL roster next year or lose him. My guess is he is traded for a 4th - 6th rounder near the draft.

Paille is just flat out better. Mark my words, by the end of the playoffs everyone will appreciate him so much more. Remember he was captain of all those Canadian World Junior Teams, not Crosby, that tells me tons about him right there.

Ryan is a nice player, but he is not an NHL top 9 forward on a Stanley Cup contender.
