All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
I think I might agree with Belicheck on something...
Patriots coach Bill Belichick would favor an overtime of, say, 7 1/2 minutes that is played to completion, regardless of who scores. That would almost guarantee that both teams have a shot at possession, and the end-of-game strategy would remain. If the score is still tied after overtime, then perhaps the sudden-death element could be in play. -- Boston Globe
Good idea, IMO. Much better than the current NFL rule of sudden death or implementing the NCAA's version of OT.

I doubt they go for a full period scheme. The networks HATE OT and as a result, they want to see the current scheme kept. And since the NFL is making tons from the networks, they have a large say in things.
But ideally it should be a full 15-minute period without sudden death. That way each team gets the chance at a possession.

I think we should go to penalty kicks. Get your 5 best kickers and let htme have at it! I would love seeing some fat ass D-lineman lining up to kick a field goal!
Re: I think I might agree with Belicheck on something...
Keep it the way it is. If a team can keep up the fight to get to a tie, they'll have to keep fighting in OT. Not all teams who win the coin toss in OT, score right away.
Besides, he's just pissed about the Colts beating their ass last year.
I didn't come here to fight, I hate fighting. Life is way too short to spend it on fighting! Go fight with yourself, one of you will eventually win!
