View Full Version : Just a thought, but could DT Darwin Walker be coming to Buffalo?

Could this be the deal that the Bills are working on? It would at least give us more depth up the middle...better than Tim Anderson and better than a late round pick. IMO

I hope not he's almost 30. I want a younger guy who can develop or at least has potential. I am hoping for a 3rd round pick for Spikes.

I'd like that too, but I highly doubt we get higher than a 5th for Spikes. If that is the case, then I would rather have Walker than a 5th rounder.

Yeah I just figure if were going for a youth movement then Walker wouldn't make sense.

Spikes for Darwin Walker I bet. Straight up.

Ive heard this somewhere before.......

In all seriousness, if its a pick i couldnt see anyone paying more then a 5th or 6th. A 5th is pretty optimistic.

Id rather have walker. Yes we have a "youth movement" going on but that doesnt mean at every position. Walker is an upgrade over both Anderson and Williams.

Contrary to popular belief bringing in a vet DT doesnt mean youre giving up on someone.

Maybe because you've already mentioned it in a couple of other threads?

We already have McCargo for development potential. Plus, youth isn't as big of a factor at DT as other positions. But he's the same size as Tripplett. I'm kind of hoping we can go get someone with Pat Williams' size of 315 or more (who, by the way, was a huge presence for the Vikings in his 11th year).

Great point, Nighthawk. I think Walker for Spikes is a fair trade. Walker would give us a reliable pass rusher up the middle, and our rotation at DT would be immediately upgraded.

Sounds good to me. The guy can play. As long as people aren't expecting pro bowls he should be fine.

Yup. He's a good pass rusher. A little streaky, but generally a good player. He's not going to be the presence against the run that we're looking for, but even in that category he's an upgrade over Timothy Anderson. Id take him, and I think I agree with whoever said above that they'd prefer Walker over a 5th-6th round pick as compensation for Spikes.

Walker is a very good player, in his prime and coming of one of his best seasons as a pro.

Typical that some fans want to settle for McCargo/Tim Anderson though.

The jamze132 thinks that the Spikes for Walker deal is a good one.

Honestly, after reading how Jauron stated in the Buffalo News today that we have to be better on offense to help out the defense, I truly expect the Bills to take Lynch or Peterson if he falls. Then they will grab a LB in the 2nd because the LB talent is a lot deeper than the RB talent in this draft.
