Redskins | Team offers No. 6 overall pick for Briggs
Mon, 26 Mar 2007 18:10:10 -0700

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Washington Redskins have offered the No. 6 overall pick to the Chicago Bears for LB Lance Briggs and the No. 31 overall pick, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus.

I wonder how this will affect the draft if it goes through which I would be shocked if it didn't.

Where do the Redskins keep getting all this money from?

Snyder must have incriminating photos of the commissioner and league officials or something.

The Skins don't think much of draft picks. They like their players with some mileage on them.

I doubt it.

Willis has stated many a time he wants to stay at MLB. I hear the Bears have a pretty good player there already.

I bet they go WR. Or better yet maybe Landry.

I do think Branch falls now. I expected Washington to take him. So i think Willis is gone to hte Niners now. I think Bears go for Landry and the Falcons go Okoye, than the niners go Willis. With Branch falling.

it's the George Allen legacy.

So much for pipe dreams of Briggs- we can't compete with that.

I tell you what would make me laugh my guts out, if this trade goes down, Quinn is still on the board at 6, and the Bears pass on him because they already have their franchise QB in Rex.

Ok HHurricane - if this is why you were laughing at my post about Marv on the phone with the bears - it is now justified - I didn't see this...

I hope the Redskins do land Briggs for that price - that would be ******ed.

I seriously doubt it too. I think they would consider Landry.

I'm a huge Briggs fan, but the Redskins are stupid as hell. For once, just once, can't they hold onto their first-round pick? They'll get a player with less mileage and probably greater potential.

That's because Madden is the 2nd biggest influence on Snyder's management style!

it would be funnier if they draft adrian peterson because they already have an adrian peterson on their team already.he's a RB too.

They did, and they drafted a thug named Sean Taylor.

Funny thing is, they passed up a moron named Kellen Winslow to pick up a thug.

If the Bears don't let a vocally unhappy Briggs go for that deal, then they must really believe that he is that good, and not just a beneficiary of the system and other players.

Ok, lets see, Clinton Portis, hes a 95 speed, lets get him

Santana Moss, hes like a 97 speed! We need him!!

(Granted both of those players would be welcome on my team....)

Is there anybody on this board who WOULDN'T give up the 12th pick in the draft for Lance Briggs? You're crazy if you wouldn't. With patrick willis (if he's even there) you MIGHT get a great pro. With LAnce Briggs, you KNOW your getting easily one of the top 3-4 OLB in professional football. He wants out of Chicago because he wants (and deserves) franchise money and he'll never get it because they have to pay Urlacher and Tommie Harris. Pay the man what he's worth, move Crowell to the middle and y ou have a sick LB tandem for the next 5-7 years.

Ed

I don't think it's that crazy of a deal. I'm not sure if people noticed, but the deal includes the Bears 1st round pick. Personally, I think I'd rather have Lance Briggs plus the #31 pick then the #6 pick. You know you're getting a great player and you still have the chance to get another great player. Not to mention the #6 pick is going to get a monster deal and could end up being a total bust.
