That's less than Holcomb, is it not? So the Bills actually save a little even after Spikes.

Buffalo doesnt have to pay the bonus correct? Doesnt that get accelerated onto Philys cap?

Yup, you guys should have him at base salery. Thats a very cap friendly deal.

Edit-Which also means you can cut him at any time with absolutly no cap hit. Unless there was a restructure as part of the trade.

We would also assume any bonuses not yet paid

I am sure he will get an extension after the next season if he plays decent this year.

The final trade makes sense and is a good one for the Bills. I think unloading Spikes for a draft pick would have been a mistake, as the team is already real young and inexperienced and losing another veteran would have hurt.

However, when you look at the fact they got a big body inside to help shore up the middle of their defense, a veteran who comes from a winning program, they did the right thing. Add in the cap savings from Spikes and Holcomb and it was a plus for the Bills.

Looks good and two years are also good. If he plays good we can get him a new contract and if he doesn't work out it we don't have him tied up to a long contract.
