I 'm a diehard bills and I think after going through 4 superbowl losses it should be fitting the Bills win one first. Your thoughts?

I follow football more intensely than I follow hockey, so if I had to choose I'd choose a SB victory. But honestly, who cares? A Stanley Cup victory for the Sabres would be GREAT- if they win first, don't hold it agains them because the Bills choked four times and have sucked for a decade.

Sabres are HOT..

They are undisputably the #1 ticket in town right now. FOr every Bills jersey walking around downtown, you see 15 Sabre jerseys.

But I dont think it hurts the Bills. If anything, I think it helps them.. It just prove this town is desperate to get behind a winner.

Actually, I really hope the Sabres win a championship before the Bills.

They can do it. they are all set to do it before we even watch another Bills game.

It would be great if they both won championships in the same year. Buffalo sports fans wouldn't know whether to **** or go blind.

F-no, take em as you can get them.

P.S. The Bills did win a championship just before the SB was started.

Being a fan of only football I would say yes I would be pissed off. No offense to the Sabres fans out there, I wish them the best but I love my Buffalo Bills.

No kidding. The quicker the city of Buffalo gets a championship in any of the major sports the better.

That's like asking if you're pissed if you win the 750,000 dollar lottery before you win the million dollar lottery.

Are you nuts?

I'm jumping for joy regardless. I'm happy that somebody is filling the void. I'm happy the town or state has a winner. I won't be picky about what sport they play.

I like the Lions. Am I holding my breath waiting for them to win something and annoyed when the Pistons or Wings win? Or the sad sack Tigers?

Uh. . . no. I'm more happy that at least somebody in town can pull it off. I'll take my winnings wherever I can get them.

Eitherway, I'd be ecstatic, but I don't really think one deserves it over the other, especially the Bills over the Sabres. The Sabres have been a very good and successful franchise and have a history of of winning, even if they haven't won the Cup.

That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I'll take either and it wouldn't matter a bit who achieved it 1st. How could anyone who is a "TRUE" Buffalonian want either over the other ? It's not possible.

IF you are both a Sabres fan and Bills fan then it would be crazy to answer yes. IF you are only a Bills fan then yes would be a good response.

I want the Sabres to win one first. Why? Because that is the next one that is awarded. In the fall, I want the Bills to win one first...

No, if you really think about it the Bills have pretty much been a losing franchise througout their history. Of course we all know about the early 90's and such, but basically have been losers. Now if you look at the Sabres, they have been more of a winning franchise and a playoff team. I wouldn't be upset at all. I still think I would rather have a Super Bowl title though.

RockStar36

Hell no.

I'm a fan of both and a bigger NFL fan than NHL but it's the Sabres time. After watching the playoffs end last year I want to see the city of Buffalo get the Stanley Cup do damn bad. I've had teams win championships before but nothing will compare to one of my Buffalo teams winning. I'm not sure how I would react but I hope to find out this June.

Good answer.

I've been a Sabres fan almost as long as a Bills fan, so it doesn't matter to me which one wins first. I am a little bit greedy, though, and want to see both the Stanley Cup and the Lombardi Trophy in Buffalo at least once before I die.

I'm a bigger football fan then hockey fan and if I could only choose one, I'd much rather see the Bills win a championship, but how can you not root for the Sabres in the playoffs this year?

So did the Bisons also hey they might be AAA and not in MLB but they brought a championship to Buffalo.

As someone who absolutely loves the Bills and football with all my heart, and is indifferent at best toward the sport of hockey, it did bother me for a very long time. I've respected the Sabres for years and they were nominally my favorite hockey team since they're local and they fit as a placeholder. However, since I moved here last year I've just grown really tired of the team. The constant talk of them, the weird ancillary things like the medallions, the ubiquitous flags and jerseys, WGR talking about them endlessly in glowing fashion. I don't dislike the Sabres at all but now I know how those people who became Bills bashers in the early 1990's felt. People who really were unconcerned with the Bills in particular or football in general who became so weary of all the talk on them they just became embittered toward everything around the team. Not hating the team per se, but the whole aspect, the merchandise, the cacophonous talk about them. I never understood that attitude until very recently.

I finally have given up the wish for the Bills to win first and I will be all right if the Sabres win the cup this year. I know it will be great for the area and I have lots of friends who really want it. I am frustrated though. We have an NFL team here, a sport bigger than all the other pro sports leagues combined, and they have become second fiddle to a franchise playing in a league that is always one or two breaks away from going under; a league that can't get out of its own way enough to get at least a major cable deal. I know winning is all that matters, that it's more important than who you have. To me, this is like the tree falling the forest. If hardly anyone pays attention to hockey, is a Stanley Cup that much more meaningful than an Arena Bowl trophy?
