The Associated Press reports Chicago Bears' fan Scott Wiese is not allowed to legally change his name to Peyton Manning, after the Indianapolis Colts quarterback. Macon County Judge Katherine McCarthy ruled Wiese changing his name to Peyton Manning would be too confusing and might infringe on the privacy of the quarterback. Weise was only trying to change his name to honor a bet he lost when Colts beat the Bears in the Super Bowl. "I had told the judge that I was not doing this because I wanted to change my name, but I was doing it because I was honoring a bet. I think she understood that," Wiese told the Decatur Herald & Review.
