Just to mix things up from the Turner/Briggs talk. Here is something that actually happened... all be it not that exciting.

Cardinals signed OL Mike Gandy to a three-year contract.
The former Bill has experience at left tackle but will most likely be competing to start at his natural guard spot with the Cardinals.

Good luck to him, I was actually hoping that they would have kept him. He was a decent guard.

Yeah but he wanted to start. He wasn't going to do it here so it was only fair to let him go and give him a chance somewhere else.

agreed, but with all the ol signings we should have enough to get by without him.

Actually I'm with you on this. He was an okay player that played okay when he moved to LG. I wish him well.

No ill will but I'm glad he's gone.

He was the absolute pits in pass protection.

I am not convinced that Whittle and/or Walker are an upgrade over Gandy.

So far all I know is that it's a three year contract.

that's a great move for the Cards.their OL is a disaster.

That's a huge understatement. But adding Gandy and getting rid of Davis might be the best thing they have done for themselves in years.

Now Dallas is stuck with Davis

Let's see how James does behind him.

He is a versatile and sevicable player who never caused any problems. I wish we could have kept him as a backup, but I wish him the best.

I wish we would have kept him as our right guard.

Me too man! I prefer him over Whittle or Preston. :ill:

Man, can you imagine if Walker ends up playing RG and Pennington RT. We will have some major beef on the OL.

That's what I want, but I think that they are really counting on Walker to be their RT. It's a dumb move, because it doesn't put the best players on the OL.

Yeah I just wonder if they think Preston has got what it takes or if they plan on drafting an OG early in the draft.

I think Merz, Butler and Walker may be in mix for the RG spot as well.

I hope that Walker is in the mix. He'd be a damn good RG, next to Pennington at RT.

I have some concerns about having someone as tall as Walker on the interior of the offensive line. At guard Walker is going to be right in JP's line of sight on passing plays and may make it harder for him to see the field.

This may be a non-issue, but there is a reason interior linemen tend to be shorter then tackles on average (helps with leverage on big DT's as well; whereas the OT's need the long reach to fend off speed rushers) .
