On Sirrius tonight one of our fans intelligently made the argument after A-train was dismissed as a "has-been" that getting 990 yards wouldn't be that challenging and I finally think the light bulb registered with Blitz crew!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been saying that it's not like Willis averaged well over 4.0 YPC, caught the ball like a WR, blocked like a lineman, or was a TD scoring machine. Good job to whoever called in and told it like it was.

And the sad part....A-train was worse and we're still all celebrating that Willis is gone and there is no viable replacement.
I agree Willis going was the right thing for the organization. What I don't agree with is we have NO replacement for him. The only plan/recourse we have right now is hoping a Peterson or Lynch is available when we pick. That's not a good strategy to hope that things fall that way.
I'm still hopeful that the A-train and his 3.1 YPC over the past 4 seasons is NOT our starting HB come September.

Originally posted by gr8slayerIt wont matter because we will be using a two back system. Much like our starting DT's don't matter.

Originally posted by eyedogIt's the rule called, "you don't dump millions into an early draft pick and not use him "
Jones - Drew was drafted early and he gets even fewer.
Addai was drafted in the first round and he rarely breaks 15.
Cedric Benson was drafted earlier than all of them and rarely gets any.
Maroney was an early pick and got less than Jones.
Again, where are these rules of yours. Marv's rules are "what ever it takes to win"
