Mike Gandy did alright for himself

His 3 Year Deal with Arizona:

    - $2.4M Signing Bonus

    - $600K base salary in 2007

    - $2.5M roster bonus and $3.5M salary in 2008

    - $5M due in final year of the contract

    - Cap number of $1.4M in 2007

    Total: 3 Yrs/ $14M ($4.66M per season) with $2.4M SB

He basically is on a 1 Yr/$3M deal, but if he plays well enough they want to play him the rest of the contract he can earn $6M in 2008 and $5M in 2009. Or, more likely, the team will re-work the rest of the contract by signing him to a longer-term extension.

Pretty good score for a guy who has basically made minimum-level dollars since entering the NFL. Good for him.

Good for him, I like the guy and hope he tears the NFCW up.

Not as good a score as Langston Walker when you compare their respective levels of play.

        Bullseye.

He was just terrible in pass protection, whether he was playing Tackle or Guard. The Bills were wise to let him walk.

But signing Walker to a HUGE deal was a wise decision?

time will tell- we needed a tackle and the whole FA market was overinflated this year cuz so many teams had ungodly cap space.

Who knows ? I haven't seen him play for us yet. Have you ?

I'm talking about Gandy wearing a Bills uniform and getting destroyed.

Even in a bloated free agent market the Bills paid too much for Walker. Consider, for example, that Houston signed Jordan Black for 2 years, $3.5 million after he started 15 games at left tackle for the Chiefs in 2006 and 10 the previous year (he has experience at every position on the line except center). I have to believe the crappiest starter on KC's line is better then the best starter on the Raiders line.

I hope the fact that Walker was so terrible last year due to coaching rather then ability, but I have my doubts.

It wouldn't be the first time the Bills picked up a worthless FA for the OL: Bennie Anderson, Tutan Reyes, Chris Villarial etc- hopefully they'll break the trend this time around.

Vallarial gave us a few years of solid play...now jamie nails, he sucked.

Jauron watched tape on him. Although that isn't saying much, we'll just have to wait and see.
