Saints Cut 19 Year Vet Carney

    Saints released K John Carney.
The Notre Dame alum says he doesn't plan to retire, but the best Carney will get in free agency will be a shot to compete with a young, unproven commodity like Josh Huston or Shaun Suisham in training camp. Carney, who will turn 43 on April 20, just doesn't have the leg he used to.

I can't believe he will be 43. How time flies.

Seriously. It's kind of sad that the Saints are getting rid of guys like Karney and Horn, they have meant a lot to that organization.
