If Tim Connolly returns before the end of the regular season, both Drew Stafford and Clarke MacArthur would have to return to Rochester until the start of the playoffs to keep the Sabres under the salary cap.
The Sabres are only allowed four call-ups while the Rochester Americans are in season, and have used two of the four.
