Jackie Battle, running back from Houston could be added to your list. He rana 4.42 at his pro day, blowing away scouts who wxpected something more along the lline of a 4.7.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

thing that scares me about battle is that scouts expected him to run a 4.7 based on what the game film looks like.

Anyone know anything about that Figurs guy?

Maybe he could work as a late round pick to do KR/PR and take some pressure off of Terrence, who is now our starting corner.

Not too mention if he has some hands, he'd be a guy that could stretch the field or turn a 7 yard slant into a 70 yard TD.

Dont know about him, but im POSITIVE we'll have a new KR this year.. You cannot have your "#1" corner returning kickoffs its too dangerous

Thing is you can get a lot of people who are dangerous to return kicks who doesn't play a huge prominent role on the team. Like Cleveland has Joshua Cribbs returning kickoffs. Cribbs is like the 5th WR and was a college QB who went undrafted. Having your #1 corner as your returnman is a huge risk, injuries, etc.

So the question is, does the gains outweigh the risk? That's up to OBD to decide.

My opinion? I'd rather go with someone different if possible.

I agree. I have never bought into the whole "guys are exposed more to injury on ST" argument. I do think there is something to having a guy on offense return kicks, because if he has a long return he might still be winded when the offense takes the field. However, that is not applicable to McGee because he plays defense.

Every down is important, and if the guy is a standout returner you have to use him there, IMO. It might make a difference between a win and a loss.

McGee is a pro bowl caliber return man. Cribbs cant touch him

His times are all excellent, but he is very thin as a WR (5-11, 175#). From what I read he doesn't play to his timed speed and struggles with the physical part of the game, like getting off a jam or blocking. I can't say I've seen him play much that I remember, but most projections I've seen have him as a late-round pick (6th/7th).

He had career highs as a receiver his senior season, catching 31-483-(15.6)-2. He was a very good on PR (11.5 yds/ret for career, bringing 2 for TDs) and pretty good as a KR (23.8 yds/ret for career, 1 TD).

He would probably have to make it as a return specialist, but it looks like he will have to get stronger and show more development as a WR to get a regular role. Late round pick.

Most have him going late 2nd early third. I wouldn't mind grabbing him wih one of our thirds.

i would say late second to mid to late third so you projection pretty accurate....many are saying that WRs will slip farther than projected so we could end up with Jarrett or Bowe in the 2nd round and should almost definetly end up with Rice
