Mike (Providence,Rhode Island): should pats trade asante to the redskins for the 6th pick

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:00 PM ET ) Yes. I like Samuel, but if Wash is really offering that deal, New Eng should say Yes. They could easily lose him without compensation a year from now. They would be very weak at CB and they are a true Super Bowl contender, but that would be great value for Samuel. I say go for it.

Adam(brooklyn): Hey Matt, what do you think the Jets will do in the ist round as well as their two late second rounders?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:06 PM ET ) Defense has to be their top priority, especially at CB, NT and OLB. There will be a decent CB sitting there in round 1 and I expect them to pounce on Revis, Ross or Houston. NT is a tough spot to fill, but there are some DE to OLB conversions that would make nice picks in the 2nd round. A guy who could be a great 2nd rounder for the Jets? Zach Miller the TE from Zona St.

chris new orleans, la: should the saints move up to get leon hall, and if not what should they do if they stay at #27

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:09 PM ET ) Moving up to get Hall is out of their price range. He could go in the top 10. CBs are gold-just ask Nate Clements, but NO needs one in a huge way. I would worry that at 27, a guy like Houston, Ross or Revis would all be gone. They might have to trade up just to get one of those guys. They are not in a great spot for their needs.

Dominick (New York): Who do you see the Bills drafting and do you see them trading up to grab Peterson?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:10 PM ET ) Peterson could fall and then yes, they could be aggressive to grab him. There are three teams (Buff, GB and Tenn) that REALLY needs a RB. I expect Peterson (assuming he gets past Clev), Lynch and Michael Turner to all end up on these three teams, but there will be competition to grab these three amongst each team.

San Diego: Any news on Michael Turner visiting Dallas or the Jets? What do you think will happen with this situation?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:13 PM ET ) I haven't heard any of the latest news on Turner, but those two teams don't make a ton of sense to me. Dallas could use him more than NYJ, but those three teams I just mentioned are the ones who need to grab him. After Peterson and Lynch are off the board, the third team would be wise to send their 1st rounder to SD for Turner.

Ryan (alabama): Could the bills get turner by trading away next years first rounder and a third this year.

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:13 PM ET ) Maybe. That wouldn't be such a bad deal for SD. SD has to realize that they only have Turner for one more season.

Parker (north carolina): Who has more value at the 12th pick for the bills Willis or Lynch?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:17 PM ET ) Tough call. I would say Willis, but I think RB is the far greater need. Would you rather have 1. Willis and 2. Hunt or another decent second round RB OR 1. Lynch and 2. a guy like ILB David Harris? Tough call, but I think Lynch would be my pick in that situation.

Ryan (orlando): Who will the 49ers draft at 11?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:19 PM ET ) They need a WR VERY badly, but not sure that I would take Ginn, Meachem, Bowe or Jarrett that high. Of those four, I think I would take Ginn. Trading down makes sense and they are not without needs on D. Willis is who I have penciled in for them now to be Nolan's new version of Ray Lewis. Carriker also makes sense.

Ryan ( WI ): If the Bills take Lynch, who should the Pack draft ? Since the Moss talks hav fizzled, any chance they'd move up to get Calvin Johnson ?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:21 PM ET ) No way that they can get Johnson. Just not enough fire power with where they are picking. Lynch or Olsen should be their two top targets, but Ginn or Meachem or Bowe wouldn't be a bad pick either. They need weapons.

Charlie (South Bend): Any way Quinn falls out of the top 10?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:25 PM ET ) Can't see it. I have him going to Clev at #3, but Miami could really want him as well.

Rizzie (New York): Do you see the Jets making a move to grab Samuel, one of the best CB's in the game, or try and grab a CB in the first round?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:26 PM ET ) CB in round one, the Pats are not going to deal Samuel to a division rival.

TSM (El Cajon, CA): Matt, for first round running backs would take AP, Lynch and then Turner in that order or dont you think Turner merits a first round pick?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:29 PM ET ) Yes, in that order. I have some worries about Turner, but if I were in Tenn's shoes, I would deal my first rounder for him right now.

Scoops(Miami): Hey Matt, other than Trent Green who is Miami interested in at startin QB

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:30 PM ET ) They are pretty much out of options. Quinn.

Rudy (San Diego, Ca): Matt if you were the A GM would you trade or keep turner

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:37 PM ET ) Trade for sure...assume I could get a number one or something very close in value. He will leave one year from now for sure. Trade him for the best offer, pick a RB in the 2nd round or so and use those picks to grab a WR and Safety. SD is very strong.

Chase (Central Coast): As a packer fan i have to wonder why Lyches stock is falling?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:45 PM ET ) There has been talk about medical issues, but I don't think he will far far and will not get past your Packers.

Rob (Storrs, CT): Hey Matt, are both of the Pat's two first rounders for defense, if so who?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:48 PM ET ) Yeah, probably. LB like Puz. CB like Ross or Revis.

jt (sf): Matt for the niners, do you prefer Willis or Carriker. I've heard they might trade Smiley for a pick, what could they get for him?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:48 PM ET ) Smiley would have some value. Late 2nd for Smiley? Maybe. I guess that I would prefer Willis over Carriker, but that is a real tough call.

Nikos Shrewsbury, MA: Matt, Who do you think is going to have more of an immediate impact, Willis or Landry??

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:49 PM ET ) Landry. MLBs are easier to recognize, but Landry is one of the safest picks in the entire draft.

AP (Boynton Beach,FL): Matt I think they will draft Griffin at 24 not Pozlunsky who I hate and would not be a good fit in NE!

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:50 PM ET ) Puz would be a real good fit at the weak ILB position for New Eng. ILB is the far greater need than OLB for NE. Griffin is a fine choice as well, but they could use more of a SS hammer type safety.

DW_Johnson: Matt... If the Pats end up with some combo of Patrick Willis/Jon Beason and Reggie Nelson will that be considered a success in round 1 of the draft?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:51 PM ET ) For sure, but Willis won't last that long. They would have to trade up quite a ways to get his services. I also think CB is a bigger need than safety, since Samuel now wants out.

Matt (DeKalb, IL): Do you think all the attention that Michael Turner (drafted in the 5th round out of NIU)has received will have any positive effect on the draft position of Garrett Wolfe ?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:55 PM ET ) It can't hurt, but they are far differnet players. Doubt it helps him much.

Mark (Detroit): Do you feel Paul Posluszny has the ability to play MLB for a cover-2 D or is he strictly an OLB?

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:57 PM ET ) Maybe, but only if he had oustanding DTs in front of him. Better suited for WLB in that scheme or WILB in the 3-4.

Mad Mike (Houston): Matt: Do you see the Texans taking Okoye and continuing to shore up that "D". I can't see a WR worth the 10th pick in the first round. Thanks, MM

http://assets.espn.go.com/i/sn2.gif Matt Williamson: (1:58 PM ET ) Maybe Okoye. I would prefer Hall, L Jones or Landry if I were them.

A few things i noticed

1. Didn't the jets just give up a 1st or 2nd to get a TE a year or so ago.
2. He looks for Wilis to be "like" Ray Lewis if Nolan grabs him
3. Lynch has medical issues, (since when?)

I really want a rb back, but everyday willis is looking better and better.

The Answer really hopes that we wait until after the draft if we are serious about going after Michael Turner.

It would be a collossal blunder if Levy makes a move now and Peterson is available at #12 - The Answer don't care how many draft picks we could land you just don't pass up on a talent like that especially since Turner is as much as an unknown as one of these rookies given the fact he has never been a full time back.

Lynch played with a sore back last college season. There was never any cause listed and no word that I've heard that suggests it is still sore, but when it comes to the NFL draft, scouts tend to latch on to any little thing in the effort to have a complete evaluation down to the smallest detail.

So now that he's retired from playing 3rd base for San Fran, Matt Williamson is a football Draft expert ?

That speculation belongs on the bottom of a birdcage.

He does make a good point though. If we don't get turner, I'd rather have a Lynch then David Harris, rather than a Willis then Irons or Bush. Pittmann in the 2nd would be a solid pick IMO.

Never thought about it this way, but if this is the case, we have the best odds of getting Turner or AP out of the three. If Marv wants a back, he'll have ample opportunity to get one without giving up the farm.

Matt Williams played 3rd for San Fran. Not Matt WilliamSON.

For once, I totally agree. I have not made a study of it, but I would imagine that many of Turner's yards have come during "garbage time," when his legs are fresh and the other team is tired, when SD is totally geared up to do nothing but run the ball, and/or when the opponent has its backups on the field.

I don't hate Turner, but at this point, I don't want us to give up our 1st round pick for him, either.
