Ricky Williams: A cheaper, less risky option

Anybody interested in good old smokey?

Interesting note from Pro Football Weekly: Defensive end Darwin Walker, acquired by the Bills from Philadelphia in the Takeo Spikes deal, had 26.5 sacks in the past four seasons. Buffalo's defensive tackles combined had 28 sacks over that span. ... The San Diego Chargers are in no hurry to trade running back Michael Turner. Buffalo and Tennessee reportedly are the two teams most interested and they both desperately need a heavy-duty running back. ... A much cheaper and far riskier option would be pursuing a deal for Ricky Williams, if he is reinstated by the NFL, if Buffalo general manager Marv Levy would take a chance on him, and if Miami would trade him to an AFC East rival for a mid-round draft pick.

Love him or hate him - the democrat chonicle does make a good point.

At one time Smokey was a premier back in this league - had some HUGE games against too. The Answer would definitely take him over what he have now on the roster which isn't much to begin with.

Personally at this junction I view Turner as less of a risk. Most players who leave the NFL and come back are never the same.

Wow. So the smarter route is to trade with our division rivals for an aging RB who was kicked out the league last year.

This falls right inline with your holcomb/draft threads, I expect no less.

Buffalo is far too close to niagara falls strip clubs and canadian pot. No thanks.

I'd take a flyer for a conditional 6th in 08, pot or not.

                          I'd love to have Ricky.

I don't feel like getting into the details right now, though. I've already explained it several times.

                              Do you people actually read?

The Answer didn't write this article, some lackey from the RochesterDemocrat did and he is the one that suggested it.

The Answer just posted it - and The Answer realizes there's little to no chance of it happening anyway.
