What is bound to happen is that you might get a specific division opponent coming off their bye about one out of eight years. What is NOT bound to happen is that it will happen 3-4 years in a row.
What should NEVER happen is that any team plays multiple opponents coming off byes. but it happens with way too much frequency for it to be coincidence. Considering we play the Pats twice a year and they only have 1 bye week, there is a 2/16 chance that we will get them coming off the bye. That's 12.5%. Now, for us to get them coming off the bye 2 years in a row, it's 2/16 x 2/16 which equals a 1.5% chance. Now, if you want to believe that a 1.5% chance is a mere coincidence, go right ahead, but the numbers point to something else.Originally posted by HAMMERComment
