The Buffalo Sabres say Co-Captain Daniel Briere suffered a minor leg injury while blocking a shot in game one of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Thursday night. Briere did not practice with the team Friday. He is, however, expected to play Saturday night.

We're deep and healthy enough at this point to withstand a minor injury or two. What we can't afford is the kind of injury streak we endured during the regular season, or in last year's playoffs.Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
