ESPN is saying Al Wilson has been released!

Hes 29 and had a neck injury. Apparently the Giants recently got a red flag on the neck injury AGAIN.

However, if we can get a clear medical look this guy is a stud!

I like this move alot. For top dollar? NO. Unless hes 100% clear to play and we expect him to play like his former self day one, but at a reduced price absolutely.

No real news there. It has been talked about all day that he was to be released.

That being said, I'd take him

rumor has it that he has to sit out 2007 cuz of the injuries, so he wouldn't really help at the moment.

I got think thats a false rumor. Why would the Giants have had him in for a evaluation then? Just for a looksy? I suppose, but it seems unlikely.

The guy was in a friggin halo or something. Why is it the Bills would get a steal when two other teams passed on him.

No thanks ill stick to players who can play.

Neck injuries for a position that requires alot of hitting its not a good thing. Despite what Wilson wants he may be done.

Another injured retread. I'd love to see us build this team with young guys who can play, rather than older guys who no longer can.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Al wilson can still play and play very good. If not for the injury all we know now for sure is hear say reported by papers. Lets check him out with our own doctors and see what that brings after all he played the last few games last year with this supposed injury. I'm not saying we need to sign or that hes the savor. But for a option if he checks out ok he has a few years left to play very well and we could groom a 2nd or 3rd behind him and not use our 1st on a linebacker in a linebacker heavy draft where the talent isnt that much different from the 1 all the way to the third rounds just maybe more polished in the 1st round.

Id rather have him out there playing with a broken neck if Wire, Haggan or DiGorgio are the other options.

Look for Denver to move up to get Willis, they don't have many holes and they have an additional 3rd rounder!

Ok why does everyone think willis is the only good linebacker in this draft the drop off between him and the #2,3,4,5 linebacker isnt that much at all. This is a very heavy deep linebacker draft we need to stop getting fixated on one guy and thinking hes the only great player that is going to come out of this draft.
