Sick & Tired of people bashing us...

I realize we have lost 4 big names, but, IMO, thats all they are; Names!! Willis McGreddy is very overrated, plus we could've never afforded him. London Fletcher is on the wrong side of 30, plus we have guys that can step in and give us a nice boost (not better than LF, but they're adequate). Clements was very overrated, and takes way too many gambles, and IMO, I like Youboty alot to be a good NFL corner. Spikes,IMO, does still have gas in the tank, but the value we got for him, was excellent.

With all that said, I think we will have a great draft b/c Marv & our brass are smart, and know what they are doing. We will be competitive next year, maybe playoffs, and when we do, all those naysayers can suck it!!

As far as I'm concerned, the national media can continue bashing us. We can just fly under the radar and shock everybody.

I agree. I've stopped listening to the mainstream press, because of their fixation on our losing big name - but old, injured, and/or underperforming - players, and how bad we're going to be without them.

But the best revenge, and the way to shut them up, is to begin winning consistently this season. Then, like a bunch of sheep, they'll be all over us, calling us the Cinderella team and praising Marv for his great moves.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

How many of you said the same things when "the press" said that we were good but never were? ('01, '02, '03, '04, '05)

It's never wise to listen to the talking heads, but let's be real here, you can count the impact players on our team on one hand; Evans and Peters on offense is pretty much all of them there until Losman steps out of the ranks of the "merely good." I anticipate that he will, but until he does it hasn't happened.

On defense we have what, Schobel? Whitner and Simpson both look good and imo Simpson is the better of the two, especially in our type of D. But neither can be considered an "impact player" based on last season's performances.

All of the worst teams in the league have some good players.

Arizona has Boldin, Edge, and Fitzgerald and some other players that they would equate to Whitner and Simpson; Leinart e.g.

Detroit has Kevin Jones, Roy Williams, Dre Bly, Shaun Rogers. They have their last year's rookie hopefuls too: Ernie Sims, Daniel Bullock, Jonathon Scott for which the same things can be said as we're saying about ours.

Oakland has Warren Sapp, Randy Moss, Derrick Burgess, and their last year's draftees Huff, Howard, Bing, etc.

Houston has/had Andre Johnson, and DeMeco Ryans and their draftees from last year including Mario Williams, which you may poo-poo although he had a much better rookie year than McCargo even only on a game by game basis.

A few decent players is not much basis for hopes that your team is going to have much of a shot at anything relevant.

Our guys are Losman, Evans, Peters, Schobel, and hopefully some of last year's draftees. Really not much different than those other bad teams.

We can hope that players like Youboty, McCargo, Ellison, Haggan, and a few others step up and work out, but the odds of that happening are no different than they've been in the past or than they are for other teams. Are we special in that regard? Hardly.

It's easy to say that all the guys that just walked sucked or aren't of any utility anymore, and it's good to look at the silver linings in that way as fans, but the realities are the realities. Talk is talk.

Fletcher yes, was on the wrong side of 30 and not worth the contract. But was Langston Walker worth the contract? Two years from now you'll be saying the exact same thing about him. He's not good.

Sure, Clements wasn't worth his contract, but after your strip off the years of his contract that won't be paid, he barely got much more than Dockery did for the five or six years each will be around. So what's the difference there? They got almost equal guaranteed money.

And just because "a player got too much elsewhere" does not mean that we will not see a downgrade in play at that position. It simpliy means what it means, that we weren't willing to shell out that kind of cash. But then again, we nearly shelled out an equal amount on a year by year basis for Dockery. So I ask, what's really the difference if after five seasons both players got about the same overall? Which one of the two would have helped us more? I don't know, I'm just asking the tough questions.

We don't simply win games because we're the Bills and other teams aren't. If you want to think that we're gonna win ten or a dozen games this year, great, feel free. But the realities are that we're not as good a team as last year's team was.

Media I can understand the bashing... But our own fans, yes the same ones that will be jumping on the bandwagon when they turn it around! People just stop the bashing and quit looking for instant gratification! If you want to bash the team you love then jump on someone elses board! The negativity sucks!

a lot of the bashing is because we lost some good players on defense.a lot of Bills fans complained about out defense last year.did it get any better this year?i don't think so.that's why a lot of people claim that the Bills will not do well this year.let them think what they want and hopefully they can be proven wrong.

The complaining about the Media bashing us is getting worse than the actual media bashing us. There are 8 threads everyday with people *****in about the media ripping us. Get used to it until the season starts. I cant imagine how much we are going to hear and you guys are getting worked up one two months in to the off season. Wait until the season preveiws come out. Some people on here might commit suicide when you read them. Get used to it.

If the Bills want respect they have to earn it on the field with big wins on the road against playoff contenders, and getting a true homefield advantage again in buffalo.

It's time for a lot of players to step in up in 2007 - Losman and Evans really need to take it to the next level this season.

I'm not exactly sure how you define "bashing." If the realistic expectation of poor results is bashing, or perhaps the elements that make up the basis for it, then I suppose you'd have to get into a chicken/egg debate.

But is it those that are doing the "bashing" that are responsible for the state that the team is in now?

Honestly, until we post a winning season it seems to me that criticizing the team in one form or another can be expected and is quite reasonable. What kind of fan sits still for the way our team is playing?

We can all sit here and talk ourselves into the notion that we will finally challenge for the division this year, but deep down we all know that's not going to happen, so why pretend. I mean do people really need to falsify hope in their team to be happy in life?

When there's something to be excited about everyone will be in agreement on it.

The way I see it, we lost 4 big paychecks. To retain them- it isn't worth it. It's not like the Bills are in the position the Sabres are in...the Bill's big paychecks are at best a .500 team.

So you go out and find replacements and spend the money elsewhere.
