    Mike Mayock's Top 64 Prospects.

    http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/10121765

After being the only man in the known world to my knowledge to hit on the Whitner pick last year, I think you have no choice to but to respect what he thinks.

A couple of things I found absolutely incredible.

    1. He has Beason (15th) ranked ahead of Patrick Willis (16th). Timmons is next at 27th. David Harris is at 34. Pos is only 5th among LB's, ranked as his 39th biggest prospect.

    2. Leon Hall isnt his top ranked corner.. In fact, he's not second either.. His top corner is Chris Houston (9th) by far the highest I've seen him ranked. He has Reevis 11th, and Leon Hall 18th.

    3. AP and Lynch are obviously the top two ranked backs.. But third he has Lorenzo Booker (44th). Leonard is the only other RB even ranked on his list (51st). No Pittman or Kenny Irons.

    Wow..

Mayock has been an absolute genius when it comes to predicting draft picks the past couple years.

I'm hoping we trade up into the bottom of the first again ... Willias at 12 and Beason in the 20s?

If we got Willis and then traded up for Beason; with Crowell that's one position we dont have to think about for 4-5 years..

Wow, Brandon Meriweather at 20. But yeah, you kinda have to listen to the guy after last year.

I really like Booker. I'm not sure he can be a featured back, but I love his elusiveness and versatility.

I remeber that saying this guy is on crack what a great call and not a shabby safety either

What I like about Mayock is he does not go with the popular choice like Kiper does. He's not afraid to stick his neck out and usually the guy is correct in his rankings in how it plays out on draft day.

One question I have is how much these rankings correlate with his final mock when it comes out. Its one thing to be a great evaluator in terms of ranking a list of players.... Its another thing to be plugged in and able to project the right players to the right teams. Which is what he did really well last year.

That is why he's my favorite. Everyone else just follows the leader.

That's the $10,00 question... is this his evaluation of talent or what he has compiled from the buzz he's getting around the league. If its the latter, then that is what makes him different from Kiper. Kiper acts like he's GMing a team and comes up with his own determination of who should go where. A true member of the MEDIA would put his ear to the ground enough times to get a basic feel for where the 32 real GMs think guys are going to go. If Mayock's projections are on, I'd take Willis at #12 and go Meachem or Leonard with our 2nd.

                          Imagine that.

                          Who would have thunk it.

A knowledgeable expert indicates that Willis is actually a reach at 12.

If we trade down we can still get him!

Well as a former defensive back, Mike Mayock should know who is the best CB on this draft. I'm not surprised to see Houston and Revis ahead of Hall. There are several comments that Hall is a kind of tweener and that his intelligence doesn't help him at all... On the other hand, It's crazy but I would like to see LaRon Landry drafted by Bills.
