                New England can go a number of ways - likely favoring grabbing a CB, LB or S. A CB b'cse Asante has shown he is not happy and they could lose him as well as provide someone of outstanding caliber to play next to him. A LB to infuse new young talent to a corp that is aging rapidly, or a S for what might arguably be called the weakest position in NE's team.

                Were I them, I might grab Timmons (OLB), as I view him very highly and think he will be a beast for years to come. However, in the era of "I wanna win now", the LBs they have will probably last another year or two allowing them to pick up their replacements with raw prospects that will initially provide depth as they learn from the current veterans. They also picked up Adalius Thomas which helps the weakend LB corps quite a bit.

                The question now becomes between S and CB. Brandon Merriweather (S) is probably the only other safety that might garner attention, but he has character issues and may not be a good fit for a Belichek team that shows a clear concept of discipline and smart football. I think for this reason, they are likely to go with CB and go with Chris Houston with the first 1st rd pick. Houston and Asante will provide a dangerous and scary duo for the Patriots defense for years to come...

                        Merriweather is the pick here...Harrison is old and uncapable of playing a full season anymore. Merriweather will learn on the fly from a great player before becoming the fulltime starter next year.

                          Merriweather isn't a Bellichick type player but Bellichick seems to be changing his style so who knows
