This isn't really football related, but a gunmen apparently opened fire at Virginia Tech today and killed 21 people. My prayers to all involved in that incredible tragedy.

Let's stay on topic and save the arguing for private messages, ok?

For those who were killed and their families,.

I never thought I would say it, because I'm a conservative, free speech, anti-gun control guy, but we have to put some restrictions on the violent and totally inhuman gansta' rap, web sites, video games, TV/movies, magazines and other crap which seem to be frying kids brains these days.

There is just too much out there that is way, way out of control.

this is tragic and my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and friends of the victims

not to make a joke out of this but imagine if Marcus Vick were still at VT and if he was in the area where the shootings took place....i wonder what he would've done

as many of you know.. i am a VT alum.. i graduated in 1999. I still go back about 4 times a year for football games.. and live about 3 hours from Blacksburg, VA now, in richmond,va.

I wish I could put into words how shocking this is.. Blacksburg is a very quiet place. like many colleges, if there was no school, there would be no blacksburg. 99% of the people in town are either students or are employed in some way by the school.

what happened today, and i have been peeled to cnn since 10am this morning when my wife called and told me (she is also a vt alum).. but what happened today is so insanely tragic and unreal.. i just cant phathom it right now.. the whole thing is very surreal, like it is somewhere else..

i was actually at vtech when the whole columbine thing happened.. i remember watching that in my apartment by campus.. this almost seemed the same way today.. your watching it and every time they say something it just keeps getting worse and worse.. at first they told us there was 1 dead.. then 9.. then 21.. then 32..

the worst part is.. there was almost 2 hours between when people in the dorm were shot.. i cant for the life of me figure out why they wouldnt cancel EVERYTHING and get those kids out of there when they KNEW that people had already been shot and that they didnt have the gunman in custody or dead or all the facts of what was going on.

alot of kids lost their lives today for no reason. it really just makes my sad. what happened today was just an awful representation of what kind of people their are in the world.

my prayers go out to all effected, and i hope that coward burns in hell.

I agree where the F was security for those 2 hours? I smell law suits against VTech.

I agree where the F was security for those 2 hours? I smell law suits against VTech.

I'm a litigation attorney, and there ain't enough money in the world to make me sue VA Tech for not anticipating that the two initial murders were the start of something much bigger. Everybody's got to keep their eye on the ball: the guy with the gun is the reason all those kids are dead, not VA Tech's security forces.
