Kidding ! You make the trade.

Take Turner and swap first all day long. Depending on who falls you can draft a great LB or DB in round one and pick up the other in round. Now you get 2 picks out of the first 50 and get Turner plus two third round picks. This would be the best case scenerio IMO.

04-16-2007, 01:34 PM
I think u swap picks and take Best available LB like Siler, or see how fell then in the 2nd round take Brian Leonard, with the 2 3s get a CB, and a WR, with the 4th pick another LB, in the 6th go OG/C, and with the two picks in the 7th go TE and DT

Mr. Miyagi
04-16-2007, 01:35 PM
Tell Smith to stuff it.

Pick Hall or Quinn.
Hell no to Hall. And why would you want Quinn? Just to trade him with another team?

Quinn isn't dropping past Minnesota at the very worst anyway, even though I think he's going to be a gigantic bust.

Agreed with just about everyone. You make the trade and maybe get Timmons with SD's 1st rd pick!

Drafting Pos or Hall at 12 or drafting Quinn when we have Losman would ridiculously stupid.

I don't have a problem taking the best CB in the draft. I see CB as just as glaring a need as LB or RB.

And I think Quinn will be a very good QB when it is all said and done. Better than JP.

I couldn't pass up Quinn.

OpIv37
04-16-2007, 03:06 PM
I couldn't pass up Quinn.

while Quinn is probably the most NFL ready QB to come out of college in a long ass time, any QB takes time to learn to be successful- the only ones that are successful from Day 1 are the ones that have a hell of a team around them (like Rivers and Rothlisberger in 04). So, how could you justify taking a player who won't help the team for 2-3 years when this team has so many holes where a draft pick could contribute THIS year?

Ed
04-16-2007, 03:56 PM
I take the trade for Turner without hesitating. Even if trading down with another team was an option, would that extra pick really be more valuable then Turner? I doubt it.

So I say take the trade and then try and grab Beason by moving back up in the first with one of our extra 3rds.

With our 2nd and 3rd round picks, grab a WR and another LB or DB.

Beason

Mr. Pink
04-16-2007, 05:47 PM
This is an easy one draftboy!

Take the trade, laugh to the bank and having a 1400 yard back next year barring injury. Then at 30th overall, draft Ben Grubbs OG or Aaron Ross CB ...Then in round 2 select Zach Miller TE Az State. Round 3 Aundrae Allison WR/KR 1st pick of Round 3 that we have, with the second select LB Rufus Alexander.

do the trade.

Mr. Pink
04-16-2007, 06:01 PM
Thomas why Kenny Irons?

Thomas NEEDS to edit his post. Thomas worked 10 hours today without lunch, taking a 2nd or 3rd string RB in RD1 is a BAD idea. I was not thinking clearly apparently while typing and completely forgot who we traded for to drop down 18 spots, dont mind me!

Lets re-do the first round idea....lol

At 30th take Grubbs OG or Aaron Ross CB Texas. Stick with Zach Miller TE in Rd2. Round 3 look at Aundrae Allison with the first selection, Rufus Alexander with the 2nd.

I take the trade
Bolts's Round 1... Best LB or WR remaining.
Round 2... Best WR or LB (opposite round 1).
Round 3... Best LB again.
Raven's round 3... Best CB.

No to the trade.

Id go Beason.

However, this is a situation where we may go a bit off the needs list and take someone like Tedd Ginn Jr. or Robert Meachem.

Beason is the safe pick, maybe even Puz if they are truly that high on him. But if they were that high on Puz, they should pull the trigger on the Turner trade and try to get him with SD's pick.

I draft Levi Brown OT and start him on the right side. That gives losman a wall in front of him with Peters-Dockery-Fowler-Walker-Brown(R). I know Walker is our new RT but i feel Brown is better. This line would be a force for the next 5-10 years.

Then I go out and get Al Wilson to help our LB situation.

From there i think that a 3rd round back, anyone of these guys that are left (Hunt, Irons, Leonard, Pittman, Bush, Booker, Henry(4th), Walker), I know some will go in the 2nd but a some will fall into the 3rd and even 4th round. In my opinion Turner is not worth our first or even our 1st for turner and SD's 1st. I think that we might be able to get Turner for a 2nd or 2 3rds (2007/2008) which we go for Willis if we wait.

This is what got:

Al Wilson (hopefully ha can stay healthy for a year or two)

1. Levi Brown OT
2. Brandon Siler LB
3. Tony Hunt RB
3. Tanard Jackson CB
4. Quincy Black LB
6. BPA
7.BPA

Quinn would already be ahead of JP in development.

It's highly doubtful Quinn will be there to pick.

Beason would be fine for me at 12. I believe he is considerably better than Poz/Siler/Timmons. Poz and Beason will not be there at 30, guarenteed.

04-16-2007, 09:10 PM
Easy. You take the trade, and get the best linebacker possible down at...29? is it..

LOL at Brady Quinn being a better QB than Losman. Maybe in 2-3 years. The Losman hate never goes away it seems....

You are entitled to your opinion, so I won't bash ya. But I think CB is the least needed position between LB, RB. CB, and QB.

Youboty is still an unknown so he could be a stud or a dud. I would rather find out either way this year without having to spend another day 1 pick on a DB. we did take 3 last year and they were hoping that Youboty could step in and replace Clements. I don'y put too much stock in his limited role last year.

We really need a LB whether it's a MLB or and OLB. If Willis is there, we need to take him. Not another QB. If JP has a sucky season this year, than I am all for expanding the search for a franchise QB but I think he should get this season to prove himself. If he builds on last year than we will all be happy about our QB.
