Hey, the rule is that they don't touch the refs. The late, great Walter Payton got kicked out of a game when he just brushed up on a ref while running over to argue a call. Best way to avoid that crap is to leave the refs alone. Yeah, they're spineless jacka**es who can't take any criticism (hence it's damn near illegal to even comment on their performance), but that's life.

What about DL Pat Toomay hitting an official in Miami in the mid 70's and he got the flag along the sidelines in the act of making a play on a Dolphins runner. The lineman who made this "fantom call" was villified in Buffalo and his name escapes me now, but the long time Bills fans will remember! Jerry was his first name if I recall....

Have you ever heard the rest of the story? Tasker has talked about this several times, this is the condensed version. As he walked by the janitors office he said Tasker, after your shower, come back and watch the rest of the game in my office. He sat in the janitors office ate part of the janitors sammie and watch the rest of the game on closed circuit tv!
