All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
We changed up our schemes depending on the offense
We changed up our schemes depending on the offense
Maybe Bills 12th pick... Big reason for Donte was to be able to have him play safety and cover. confuse the offense.
favorite reason for Hall:
"Hall has demonstrated that he can perform equally well in man-to-man and zone coverage, a trait all NFL teams covet because they like to mix coverages and camouflage them to confuse quarterbacks".
(April 17, 2007) -- This is the latest you need to know about Michigan cornerback Leon Hall: After an impressive workout at the NFL Scouting Combine (highlighted by a 4.39 clocking in the 40-yard dash), he decided to participate only in position drills during Michigan's Pro Day on March 16.
Most draft projections have Hall as the first cornerback to be selected, likely within the top 10 picks.
His most recent team visit was scheduled with the Tennessee Titans on April 17. He has visited with the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as scheduled visits with the New England Patriots and Washington Redskins.
Leon Hall made his share of big plays as a cornerback at Michigan.
This is what else you need to know about Hall: Scouts generally view him as being the best prepared of the cornerback prospects to immediately step into a starting role. Hall has demonstrated that he can perform equally well in man-to-man and zone coverage, a trait all NFL teams covet because they like to mix coverages and camouflage them to confuse quarterbacks.
Scouts like his physical play, especially in run support. He takes full advantage of his solid, 5-foot-11, 193-pound frame. They also rave about his instincts, his ability to anticipate plays, and his ball skills. This is what Hall has to say about himself:(On why he has been able to excel in man-to-man and zone coverages) "We changed up our schemes depending on the offense, so one game we'd play a lot of bump, one game we might play off ... it changed up week to week. I think I am definitely an overall corner. I play the run very well along with pass coverage." (On what he can do to turn his school-record 43 pass breakups into interceptions; he finished his collegiate career with 12 pickoffs) "I think that comes a lot with film study, you watching yourself and realizing you can't waste movements. I think one wasted movement will keep you from a pass break up or keep you from intercepting. I think it's just an extra step, that extra film study, the extra rep just to get you the next step from a pass breakup to an interception." (On studying videotape of opponents) "I would say for any position you definitely have to watch a lot of film as far as learning the other team tendencies, how a player is, how he reacts in certain situations. I think that just gets you to that next level."

I wouldnt' cry if they drafted him.
Me either. Id prefer Willis first but honestly there arent a lot of 1st round grade talent that would dissapoint me. We have so many needs almost anyone upgrades us.
McGee-Simpson-Whitner-Hall gives us a young secondary locked up long term with plenty of time to "gell".
Re: We changed up our schemes depending on the offense
We had the top rated CB in FA and we were ranked 28th in defense. Nobody minds that we are going to draft a rookie to replace him who essentially does nothing to improve the 28th ranked D.

Yeah, great move.
The Neg says he wholeheartedely agrees with you and that "addition by subtraction" has been and will continue to be the norm at One Bills Drive until this front office is cleaned out from top to bottom.
