Now SI.com has it up.

Anything Dallas does regarding Julius Jones has nothing to do with salary-cap space. They have plenty of cap room to do whatever they want. They don't think he's an elite runner. They're likely going to ship him off on draft day.

Absolutely no more than that.

I'd definitely give up a 3rd for Jones- it would be one less need to worry about with our #1 and #2 picks.

I would sent a 3rd for him in a second, wether its our early or late 3rd I wouldn't care at all.

No way... Jones has never impressed me. And he had a pretty good line to run behind.

Willis > Julius.

I wouldnt give more than a 5th for JJ. Durability has always be in question.

I think we can draft a Julius Jones capable RB with a 3rd rd pick.

If we can get JJ for less then a 3rd it might be an interesting move.

I would rather have Turner for a 2nd rd pick

well, AP will probably be gone, Lynch has some question marks about him and Pittman sucks- assuming AP is gone, Jones would be a better option than either of those or than anyone we currently have.

And next year is supposed to be a great RB class, so if Jones sucks we can always cut him.

I always thought he was decent- he's no LT but he would be an upgrade for us over McGahee.

I'd give our second 3rd for Jones and still take a later round flyer on a guy like Garrett Wolfe as a 3rd down back.

I've always looked at Jones as a very good back, but I guess I haven't watched him all that often. looking now at his stats, he had his first 1000 yard season in 2006 and previously hovered in the 800-900 range. Would he give us anything A-Train can't do?

Jones would be a very good compliment to A-Train, size back and a speed back, if all we did was give up a 3rd for him, we can get our LBer in round 1, i would luv to get Brian leonard in rnd 2, and 3rd go for a WR, or CB, or another LBer

Jones doesn't have the talent McGahee has.

I think he'd give us more speed and more potential for some big runs.

Jones doesn't have the talent McGahee has.

but he has a better attitude and a better work ethic so he gets better results. There are a lot of NBA players who don't have the talent that Derrick Coleman had, but they still have/had much better careers.

I'd definitely take Chris Brown over Julius Jones. If we're going to expend a draft pick on a running back, we might as well get some one whose better than Julius Jones. CB is free, in terms of picks. I still think it's possible that San Diego will see reason come draft day and make a deal for way less than their asking price for Turner....

Both Brown and Jones.

Not that I want Jones, but any leverage we have in trading for Turner may help.

The Answer wouldn't mind Jones, but Marion Barber The Third is the better back - likely the reason Jerry Jones wants to ship Jones to begin with.

For everyone who wouldn't take him, let me ask you this. Which one do you take?
I'll take B.

Choice A

A. Thomas
S. Williams
draft pick

OR

Choice B

A. Thomas
J. Jones
draft pick

I like him. I'd be willing to send our 1st 3rd and a conditional 5th next year that could turn into another 3rd based on production. I'd take him over Turner, but I wouldn't take him over Pittman in the 3rd.

Or the fact that Jerry Jones is obsessed with Adrian Peterson?

Well obviously Choice B, but then Choice A doesn't cost us a day one draft pick, so you've got to weigh that in too. There's also

Choice C

A Thomas
Rd. 2 or 3 draft pick
Rd. 6 or 7 draft pick (garrett wolfe, jackie battle?)

So now you are finally agreeing with The Answer?

The Answer told people weeks ago that Jerry Jones has hardon for Peterson especially since he's pretty much a local product playing at Oklahoma which isn't far away from Dallas - but people wouldn't listen.

This is also why The Answer felt we should make a move for Marion Barber The Third.

Here is my thinking. A. Train is getting long in the tooth and J. Jones would be a nice 1-2 punch with who we draft for awhile!

The Cowboys have no interest in shopping MBIII. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he gets a long term deal before the season is up.

I agree, Jones is a great change of pace back, just not a full time starter.
