Buffalo sells the most Jersey's of anybody by ALOT and the arena's around the laegue fill up when the Sabres come into anytown. The Sabres also won the president's trophy and have been well, well covered by all the media outlets.

We have the best team in the league, the best story and a town with no previous major professional sports championships. Sounds like a great story there, one that would sell the game and open more doors.

Plan on us taking our destiny by force either way.

I'm not really sure what you're getting at, but Sabres merch is selling like crazy even without a Cup victory. It would be in the league's interest to get some team whose merch isn't selling to win, because the winners always sell a ton of merch.
