i know how guilty you all feel about last nights game yeah right so im here to assuage your emotions

http://iptv.newyorkislanders.com:8888/IslandersTV_VOD/Islelights_BUFgame4.wmv

a) puck shot into miller

is it a goal then? no

b) from the head on view you can see the puck dancing along the goalline between millers pads. it appears to be mostly in front of and only barely touching the goalline (away from the sabres net) and comes to rest completely in front of the line

is it a goal then? no

c) miller is stationary trying to find the puck when the other players apparently see it between his legs and move toward it. witt attempts to take a jab at it when miller begins to pull his pads together. other players are also taking a swipe at the puck. the last glipse you have of the puck it is moving again but you can only descern it is moving laterally (side to side between millers pads) and you cant tell if its going backwards at all before his pads close

is it a goal then? inconclusive

d) with his legs squeezed miller is shoved into the net, his legs come out from under him and the puck rattles around the back of the net

is it a goal then? no for several reasons: 1) at point c above it was inconclusive meaning the last verifiable status of the puck was point b not a goal so the assumption has to be miller has it legally between his pads before being pushed in, 2) the refs whistle had blown by that time

i feel better now
