They had to win 4 in a row to make the post season and looked possessed some of the time against us. I think that the idea that we play well in streaks and have alot of talent and they play hard alot more but have alot less talent is quite a reality.

I think a part of it was that we have no rivalry with the Isles. They were expecting to play Toronto, Montreal or even the Cane's, but when it turned out to be the Isles it was a big let down for the Sabres and they couldn't turn it back on.Comment

The Isles are a better team than they were given credit for, 2 months ago everyone said they were a solid lock for the playoffs, they had a big lead in 6th place. Then DP got hurt they lost confidence and slid out of the playoffs before making a late run to get in. They have a ton of talent on that team: Smyth, Blake, Yashin, Satan, etc. I think it's funny that everyone is saying the series was harder for Buffalo than it should have been, just look out west Det/Cal are tied 2-2.

I expect the Sabres to turn on the jets next series.

The Islanders were getting hot for the playoffs. Of the 16 teams that made it I would say 12 of them were good enough to win the cup going into the playoffs, including the Islanders. Its a tough trophy to win.Comment
