Day 1 is over and the Bills picks are bolded, your job is to grade our Day 1, and give anaylsis, and then plan out you Day 2 strategy. You hold 1 pick in Round 4, 1 pick in Round 6, and 2 in Round 7. You need to list your top picks for each round and what holes we still need to fill. YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PREVIOUS PICKS OR MAKE TRADES!

    Good Luck!

    Re: Draft Scenario V

I don't think anyone on here is going to like how this draft transpired. I like the 1st round pick, obviously, but the next 3 day one picks are attrocious.

Would this mean Tripplett would be cut? In my opinion yes.
Tim Crowder? Why did we re-sign Kelsay for gobs of money if we're drafting a DE on Day1?
Drew Stanton? While I absolutely love the guy and think he'll do well at the pro-level, why are we taking a QB in Round 3?

We completely ignored needs with this mock...no LB...no CB...and went with guys outside of Olsen who are gonna be backups. If this does transpire this way, our next pick absolutely HAS to be at LB, hopefully Rufus Alexander would still be available when we pick next.

We'll need to draft another LB in Rd6 or 7...and a corner...and I'll say a FB with the last pick or BPA, depending on what goes down.

            Round 1: Greg Olsen, TE
            Round 2: Tank Tyler, DT
            Round 3: Tim Crowder, DE
            Round 3: Drew Stanton, QB

One could argue these players potentially fill holes or maybe provide future trade bait who knows. The Stanton pick throws me off, not because I dont feel we dont need a QB just thats pretty early for one for us.

Olsen gives us a TE threat we havent had in years, and Tank puts one big ass mean body on the DL.

Overall I guess I should say I dont mind the players themselves, but where, when and what they were chosen over this would be a terrible draft imo. Not because of the talent or even reaching, simply because of the holes it leaves open. While they would certainly add to the team, Marv and Co. would have to close out with the best 2nd day ever.

Round 4 I have to believe we absolutley need a LB, with the selections off the board (unless I missed him) I have to believe we'd be targeting David Harris or perhaps a guy like Stewart Bradley.

Rounds 6-7 I take the BPA approach. WR, LB, CB, S, RB, OG are all positions we could stand to add talent to so I believe Marv and co. should focus on the highest ranked players on thier draftboard.

Instead of *****ing about the scenario, figure a way to try and fix it...this isnt supposed to be easy...its supposed to be fun, none of the picks made were absolutely beyond belief. They were bad, but I made them purposely that way. Just deal with it and what would you do with Day 2.

                  Re: Draft Scenario V

But on another note, considering the picks on Day one, I would abandon any best-player-available strategy, refine my picks down to the positions of corner, LB, WR and RB and erase all others off the board and draft for depth there.

Hopefully, I can end up with the next Terrell Davis or Marcus Colston.

                    Re: Draft Scenario V

                    Here is what I do;

                    4th Round-CB Micheal Coe
Coa is a small school CB with great size and speed who could become a real starter in this league in a few years. He would immediately be the nickle back and teamed with K. Thomas should be able to provide a solid 4 CB's.

                    6th Round-OLB Rory Johnson
Extremely athletic. Has some character concerns but Marv has taken hot heads from Mississippi before. He plays on the outside and could start some this year if need be.

                    7th Round-RB Garrett Wolfe
Explosive game breaking RB. Has run a 4.1 40, and showed the moves at NIU to evade would be tacklers. Be an excellent change of pace back.

                    7th Round-WR Prince Prempeh
This years Marques Colston? Prempeh has great size and hands, but like Colston doesnt have top end speed. He also loves to go over the middle and also go up for jump balls.

                    UDFA:
                    RB DD Terry
                    WR Fontel Mines
                    LB Danny Verdun-Wheeler
                    TE Chad Upshaw
                    CB Courtney Brown
                    LB Ramon Guzman

This would be a horrible day 1.

There is no way we don't take an LB, CB, or RB on day one somewhere.

This looks like a smug TD draft.

I dont think we go TE, DT, QB on day 1 at all switch it toWillis, then Pittman, two 3rds i would go with Durant or Harris for LB, Chandler TE from Iowa, then go CB in the 4th, and then WR, and a DT, and G/C in the 7th

This isnt a prediction, its a statement. There are instructions AFTER the mock part.

You probably handled it as well as it could be handled. Another day two linebacker candidate could be Antwan Barnes, but I think he played more defensive end in college so he's going to have a bit of a learning curve, especially when it comes to pass coverage. There might be a bigger option at running back, but you're going to get a difference maker with size on day two. At least Wolfe gives you something in the way of speed and elusiveness that few other backs can offer. Then you look for a Joe Burns type free agent and hope to be surprised. I'm very intrigued with Jordan Kent as a late round WR sleeper. He's raw, but has size speed and unusual smarts.

I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
