Put Maple Leafs general manager John Ferguson high on the list of those wanting to know just when New York Islanders defenceman Sean Hill tested positive for performance-enhancing substances.

If it was before Game 81 for the Leafs, when Hill played 22:02 and was a plus two in a 5-2 win with huge playoff implications for both teams, Ferguson has concerns. Hill played in all four New York wins at the end of the regular season as the Isles beat out the Leafs by a point and was available for the first four playoff games against the Buffalo Sabres, all while appealing the 20-game sentence.

Ferguson held off criticizing the timing of Hill's suspension until he finds out just when the second test was carried out. National Hockey League deputy commissioner Bill Daly has not gone public with the timeline of Hill's violation and the denial of his appeal, which triggered the suspension.
"I need that information, but if our opportunity was impacted in that fashion, then legitimately, we would have some question," he said.

When was the test failed? Is this just sour grapes, or does Ferguson possible have a legitimate beef?
Would the NHL really hold back on a suspension until the team is just about done for the year?
