Aaron Schobel has lost 20 pounds this offseason. He might have more athleticism then anybody on our D. If Carriker is there and is the best value do we transition Schobel into more of a LB role? Just throwing it out there.

Adams is gone by pick 4, let alone 12. Schobel is arguebly the best person on our line against the run, and thats not saying much. We need him at DE. Espcially with Youboty starting next year. We need pressure on the QB.

He can do that from the LB position. Carriker is also terrific prospect at DE so don't underestimate his abilities.

Um, there's quite a difference. This is done quite often. Look at Jason Taylor. I'm just saying that our defense needs all the talent it can get so if Carriker is the best value there then i wouldn't have a problem with this.

Taylor and Schobel are two entirely diffrent players. Taylor is a physical freak. Schobels the sterio-typical high motered white guy.

That's too much weight loss for a DE, IMO. Although he might be faster (by a step or two), he's going to be tossed around like a rag doll, and more easily blocked out of plays.

I like the thought... it gives us a little flexibility in our thinking on Saturday.
